Need help from Amazon 🐠 Anyone interviewed for Amazon L5 BIE in GSF supply chain team? The JD said basic qualifications include data modeling, ETL, data warehousing and optimization. Any idea or experience how they will test these topics? Asking about related experience? Or show some data and ask how you will deal with that? Or like a case study, given a senario and ask how you think in order to tackle problem? Need advice/idea/experience urgently. Thanks in advance.Amazon @BIE

Because this industry did a really good job making us believe that we are entrepreneurs and artists, not working class with a glorified sales job. So a lot of people defend the right of their bosses to exploit them.
A few comments here are very good examples of what I said/
Because we get paid way too much to do a white-collar job you do not need a college degree for while we WFH or work in nice agency offices with Apple computers and think of ideas all day.
Not saying I wouldn't join one though if there was one 🤔
Sorry dude I know rent is a killer here + student loans and stuff if you got those. I think first few years of ad agency life is a bit tight but after 3 or so years your salary really bumps up for a much more comfortable lifestyle.
Prayers up 🙏

Start one. Pay won’t be great but you’ll have the job stability and benefits you want. No more late nights. Oh and you gotta pay the dues which are pretty hefty. But you can look forward to strikes and potentially not working without pay if there’s a labor dispute. But promotions will be based on time put in so you’re good there. As long as you like making political contributions to whomever the labor union supports you’re all set. Will the holding companies switch to offshore workers if a labor union is started? Maybe.

You work for Amazon?
Independent Sales Reps felt the same way and over covid we did something about it. Not a union, a 5016c trade organization: https://allianceofindiereps.club/
Maybe this will spark an idea for the Community of Creatives to form something similar?
Cause for the money it would take to pay us under union contracts, they'd hire fewer of us except the best of the best, and then outsource a lot of grunt work.
The amount of red tape and headache from the business side that would be present with union contracts, on top of NDAs, on top of client contracts would make any shop decide to not hire any of us unless they were truly suffering.
Plus not everyone would join a union which will be the people that keep the agencies afloat while union workers are out of a job
This is exactly what the employers want us to think.
We work in an industry in which every entity is willing to undercut everyone else. Lower rates, lower commissions, faster and cheaper. And if there were a creative union, there would be talent willing to work non-union. And they’d be the people who would get the work. It’s as simple as that.
Too many people earning way too much money, sitting by a pool coming up with ideas with a beer in hand believe we’re lucky. Why they would think that is anyone’s guess 🤷♀️🤷♂️
For anyone in the UK, the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) also covers people in creative fields. (Of course, you can also join a general one like Unite.)
It takes an amount of commitment that we don’t have hahahaha
