Why is city not sending at home covid test kits to city employees and residents? I spoke to my friends in asia and most countries are doing it. Who should we reach out to?

There’s free testing on street corners all over the city - just go get one. More reliable and cheaper.

As opposed to any other?

We have them in the UK and they are free and quick.

Can’t you just buy them at CVS for $22?

It’s $26 for two tests (after tax). I just bought them when I was there over thanksgiving. Contrast from picking up a pack of seven tests for free from the NHS the day before I arrived.

Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday. I’m looking for an HR Generalist role or something similar in the Chicagoland area. Some background I’ve been at my current company for 9 months, they have decided to relocate to Texas, and have asked me to move there to continue my role, I declined. I have 5 years of experience. Things at my current job have gone from bad to worse, it’s affecting my mental health. I’m looking to get out as soon as possible. Any help would be appreciated!

Asked my company to move to a more expensive city- they’re allowing- but I really doubt I will get any more $ even though the cost of living is so much higher. Is this normal or do you think I should really push for an increase? Especially due to COVID I think my chances are slim

Hi all, I’m a mom of 2 (2.5 years and 9 months). I’ve been with IBM five years as a data scientist and more recently as a product manager. I’m looking for my next role and I’ve been applying to jobs externally for about a month and I’ve only received rejections. I’ve struggled with postpartum depression during the first few months. I’ve been doing a lot better lately but I’m feeling these rejections are starting to get to me. Any PMs out there willing to share any advice or connect with me 1x1?

Is anyone on a low dose of Adderall or a similar stimulant, and do you find it helpful/effective?

When I was diagnosed (at 20 yo) I started on Adderall XR and my psychiatrist essentially took a “keep upping the dose until you feel side effects” approach, even though I still saw some benefits at a lower dose. I’m currently unmedicated and am somewhat hesitant to restart, but feel I could see some benefit and better stability with the help of medication.

It seems like news outlets aren't covering Covid as much anymore. Why do you think that is?

The managing partner of my office likes to make jokes about Covid now that it is “over” (either in small group convos or speeches to the office). My dad died from Covid, and I honestly feel like it’s so insensitive for him to make these comments when he knows that I lost my dad to it. Our office isn’t that big, and I don’t think many people forget being told that someone they know lost someone from Covid. It has made me consider leaving because of it, but the economy isn’t great.

Neither my husband nor I are good with change and when my husband and I went for the ultrasound he nervously asked "she's too sick to eat anything other than her vitamins and water, is it ok for her and the baby to go without?" Our doctor just smiled and replied "don't worry, baby takes" I don't know why but that was so funny to us. It kind of became our mantra as we navigate and move our life around that "baby takes," its made it feel more Us vs Change rather than Me vs Him. Thought I'd share
