Why is it that every time I try to take time off EVERY TEAM pops out of the woodwork for something to do before I leave? Even the quiet teams. It’s Monday and I’ve already logged 20 hours for the week.

I’m hearing about so many company holiday parties. We’ve never had one and it makes me so bummed out! Is it just my group/dept? Do any of you oracle peeps have a holiday party??

I have been in sales even before college. I'm reaching a burn out. I feel like the expectations get higher the more work I put in and that ends with me putting on many hats to get done. I can't catch a break, let alone allowed a decent vacation without having to negotiate based on performance. I honestly don't want to be in sales forever. I'm versatile when it comes to any tasks due to the nature of wearing many hats. Any suggestions?

I need help. I'm dealing with multiple losses in the same week and having a hard time... I took some time off from work but I have no motivation to do anything. Trying to figure out holidays with extended family. My husband and I have young kids on the east coast. His sister and her husband live on the opposite coast. We have lived in the same city as my in-laws for the last 10 years, so it always made sense for my sister-in-law to fly back here to visit. Now in-laws are in Chicago. Does it make sense to ask everyone to come to us for holidays given that we have young kids and limited vacation time? Is that fair?

A friend of mine works with TCS as an Analyst, his base location is Bengaluru but he is been working from his hometown in Lucknow since the first COVID lockdown. Now he is being asked by his team to work from Ahmedabad, where his direct supervisor (manager) is working from. In this case, according to TCS talent policies, what is the procedure and the benefits that he can avail, as part of project initiated relocation? Also, how long it takes to get base location changed through HR in TCS?

Starting us off with an important tip: Your resume is a marketing document, not an autobiography. It should include relevant jobs, responsibilities, and perhaps most importantly, achievements. Where you can quantify an accomplishment or just talk up a major project you led at work or in an internship, do so. The point is to make the hiring manager think, “Wow, I need to talk to this person! They seem like a good fit!”
