Why is it when assistants WFH they act like they dont have any electricity, running water, wifi, and that their computer is run by a hamster in a wheel???? Every minor ask is met as if its a major inconvenience.

My assistant needed to go into the office to get something and she was away from the computer for like 6 hours. Like girl did you walk or what

likefunny

I find they can’t do much anyway so it makes little difference.

Has the quality of assistants just generally gone down since * years ago?

Yes, and they still get raises to do nothing or the bare minimum.

Probably would sound silly, but does Gartner provide IT Assets, if yes! What kind, how efficient the systems are in general. I think the current employees who have worked with them ever since WFH started would know better.

I thought WFH was going to be so easy! Man was I wrong! I'd give anything to go back to normal
shifts and school in session.

Question for the Biglaw Bowl: How common is it to take a pay cut when being promoted from associate to income partner? I had heard about this happening at some lower ranked V100 firms. But now that I’m more senior and my friends are making partner, it sounds like it’s a lot more common than I thought and happens at firms where I wouldn’t expect it. Does anyone here have any insight into this? How common is it, how much of a pay cut, and how long until your pay catches up to associate pay?

I've been noticing a new trend in biglaw passive aggressiveness: Adding a question mark to a non-question when you're following up on something. E.g., "Hi X, just wanted to check in on Y as the client would like to see a draft as soon as possible? When can we expect this?"

And to the people who do this... why?
