Is it possible FAANG will undergo massive changes due to regulation in the next couple of years? Recruiter reached out for Facebook but I'm not sure
Do FAANG lowball offers nowadays? Got an Amazon offer with 130k TC. I am making 180k TC now. The recruiter told me I should consider FAANG brand and career potential. I think Amazon already doesn't have great WLB, and it doesn't sound like they truly value me.
Any recommendations for books or materials to prepare for Amazon or FAANG product (technical) manager roles? I’m assuming this was asked many times, I haven’t had luck locating ideal threads but will keep looking as well! Any advice would be appreciated 🙂
People always say FAANG but I rarely see mentions of Netflix...is it just because it’s a handy acronym?
Amazon low ball offer (L5): 105 base + 10k sign on + 80k stock (4 years) VS KPMG Manager offer: 165k + 10k sign on. Both are in Seattle. Should I go to FAANG for prestigious brand?
I solved the FAANG issue. Add Microsoft, drop Netflix (way too small for this group), end with GAMMA.
Starting application process to FAANG and other tech firms. For those who have recruited, what’s the end-to-end timeframe? Trying to see when to start the process if my goal is to leave by end of October. I also will be able to get referrals from google, fb, and amazon, not sure if that speeds up the process . Thank you
I'm trying to switch from consulting to product management. Is it possible to make the switch directly or would I need to go to business school? Are any FAANG companies keen on PMs with a consulting background? Are there any courses or books that could help me make the switch? I've been seeinga lot of ads Product School for instance. Is that a better value substitute for business school? Sorry for the question overload lol. Thanks in advance for your help 🙂
How common are signing bonuses and/or stock when targeting industry roles at the Director/Sr Director/VP level at non-FAANG companies?
Do engineers who switch to management start at M1 at FAANG+ companies regardless of engineering experience, or is it based on total experience? Do they only hire either internally engineers switching or only hire external people if they have management experience? What suggestions do you have for people looking to make the switch? I'm not sure how much longer I want to keep coding.
Did not get through to the offer stage at one of the FAANG companies. Trying to see how to better prepare myself considering I have been only getting rejects the last few months.
Looking at exits and know big tech is not the play anymore. What are the FAANG companies of 2030? What companies should people be exiting to now? Med device? AI? Cyber?
What’s up with this trend of hiring managers rejecting developers who don’t have FAANG experience on their resume? People in consulting companies also work for clients who handle high traffic and complex architectures. Also, not everyone wants to work at FAANG companies due to moral issues that these big tech companies ignore and blatantly misuse personal data and privacy.
Are FAANG companies very open to relocation?
4YOE @Amazon & trying to lateral to a similar role @FAANG. Have my undergrad GPA (3.8/4) on resume from top 15 school but colleague says to take it off (looks silly). If it’s a good school & high GPA, why ever take it off your resume? Even if 10 YOE...can’t hurt?
So I have been able to get offers at consulting companies and some FAANG exit companies (Industry), have made to final rounds at FAAG (except for Netflix) but wasn't able to secure offers. My ultimate goal in my life is to secure a FAANG offer, I don't want anything else in my life. Is it that life is trying to play with me?
Next week FAANG earnings begin with NFLX and following 2 weeks all the big boys go. Are earnings going to be catalyst for next leg up or next leg down? I don’t think better than expected works anymore like it did in the summer. One thing to note though all the major tech companies but Apple are trading below where they did at Q3 earnings.
I’m making just under $55k. I haven’t had movement in my salary in around two years. My best work has come in the last two years, however, and my managers are aware of this. A promotion - god/holding company willing - is anticipated in 2021. I was told by a coworker in 2017 this next step in my career would be at $60k. That was then, though. With all of this in mind, am I out of touch to try and negotiate closer to $70k if need be?
Which certifications (aside from CPA & CFP) do those who work in HNW taxation find most beneficial to their career?
Bonus number? Anyone?
First time being sick on a client site. I would pay to be in my apartment instead of this hotel room.
Going to b school not sponsored by Deloitte. Does that mean no bonus because I need to leave by August? :-(
Been @ EY a month (frm PWC) as a sr. D wants to bring me in as a M (random LinkedIn post). What salary range should I expect? I said I need 150-175k. Realistic for 7yrs, 4yr consulting non target MBA?
Anyone recently redeem Marriott points (specifically to Delta miles) and get an email saying it could take 6 months to process?
I feel very envious of people who have so much tenureship and longevity in their role. I get bored after 6 months. 😵💫 I haven't been in a role for more than 2 years
Are any recent grads happy in their jobs? Just started last fall and feel like I’ve received minimal support from my firm and not developing any real skills. Looking to switch companies but I’m not sure if it’s company-specific or just COVID in general
Thoughts on Dechert corporate/M&A? I have seen they are hiring for Philadelphia and Charlotte, plus some larger cities.
Starting to get more involved in the project sales process - any recommendations for books or resources to develop skills in this area?
Have an interview request for a commercial excellence manager at Bain. Anyone have insights on this team? Worth switching?
Hi MBB fish, trying to make a leap from a boutique consulting firm focused on healthcare, 6 years of experience. Is anyone willing to have a chat with me on how such a transition might work? I'm US-based.
CONSULTING TO INDUSTRY : LOWERING THE BAR? I have an offer from industry, moving to Europe (Scandinavia), but I'm getting the feeling that I'll be devaluing or losing my standard, because the role is naturally not that dynamic as in consulting. Am I thinking right? Or am I thinking too much? Current 9 yoe in solid Tech & Management Consulting in India.
The kind of promotion we wish for!
left industry 3 mo ago b/c I liked tech consulting (solving problems and moving on). First assignment is a multi year staff aug project (I’m obligated to for a year). Valid reason to leave so soon?
Hi 🐟 Does Dassault systems sends rejection mail. Please add your thoughts if you Interviewed at Dassault.
Any interest in Thanksgiving Eve Drinks in Manhattan this arvo/evening? Thinking Union Square Area for those keen.
CAIA or CMT? I do institutional sales for an asset manager. Am graduating in the fall with an MBA from a top 40 school.
