Hi Microsoft fishes,
Can you please suggest the roles one can get in Microsoft if they are coming from a management consulting background?
My skills are mostly in market research and have very good proficiency in Excel/powerpoint while being a very beginner of python/R.

Try the St Louis ribs at Dinosaur BBQ in Harlem or the moist brisket at Hill Country BBQ. Those are the best in Manhattan.
Feel the same way about Mexican food here
What about NYC Birria on 6th and 50th?
Danny meyers book “setting the table” has a really interesting chapter on this for when he was building blue smoke. I don’t recall exactly (nor do i know if still relevant since book was written in 2000s) but tldr is at least with Manhattan, controlling for the smoke stacks to get the appropriate flavor and temp is very challenging. You need space, and places in BK/Queens probably are better set up for it.
Also just personal experience, but pitmaster culture is really important to a thriving bbq scene. Nyc is kinda lacking in that relative to the south
I know! So far Hometown BBQ is the best I’ve found (but so expensive). And the plating looks just like this lol.
Yeah I’ve only been to red hook. I like their food, not their prices lol
Facts. Texas bbq all dayyyy
Nah fam. Missouri. Q39 Midtown in Kansas City to be precise.
Only had Mighty Quinn’s and it’s a hit or miss - brisket is usually good - EV location. Not sure about variation x-loc
Used to like the brisket at Mighty Quinn’s BBQ in the EV, didn’t like the wings or pulled pork or sausage
Hill country's moist brisket is pretty damn good
John Brown and Hometown are probably the best in the city
What's your take on pig beach? I enjoy the atmosphere in the summer time and it's nearby.
I quite like their brisket, that's my go to when I'm there. Just curious what OP thinks. For NYC BBQ, I think the prices are fair. I'm just amazed by how affordable BBQ is outside of NY.
It’s cooked indoors. Real bbq is smoked outside
I just moved back from a year long job assignment in Texas and I made a hobby of traveling the state to try and hit all of the spots in the Top 50 Texas Monthly Magazine Best BBQ List. I miss it so bad 😩
Seems like most places can do brisket--which is my personal go to. And I love a good baby back from time to time.
You can’t cook outside and there’s no room in a tiny ass place with billion dollar rent to fit proper smokers
Just curious if you could break down the specific sources of your sadness OP. Or do you just hate the plating
Hometown is the best I’ve found in New York. The owners are from Texas.
