Why is PQM so much harder to hit than spend for United statuses?

To elaborate: I have enough spend for 1k, but I’m not even close to Platinum in PQM yet

Because that just means you are buying a few expensive tickets as opposed to buying many tickets. Thus the level of loyalty is lower than if you bought more of lesser value.

Airlines are great at price discrimination so they are getting decent returns at every type of fare. They care more about you buying more of normal priced tickets, than a couple of more expensive tickets. They definitely don’t want you to buy many underpriced tickets, hence why they’ve all introduced the dollar spend requirement.

Depends on what the profit they can get on each of those. You’re example indicates that the second customer pays 30% less for flights that are twice as long. Not sure if this is a true example or not since I’ve never flown those exact routes, but if it is, it may be that the planes are larger and they can fit more people on the cheaper seats. Not sure what the expected profit would be.

What I know is that Airlines have become masters at maximizing profits at every seat. What the additional profits are per seat? Idk. To give you an honest opinion I’d Have to look at their models which are more complicated than I’d probably understand, BUT that is the logic of why. Whether accurate? Idk.

The spend component was added to weed out people doing dirt cheap mileage runs.

This is where you need to get crazy and earn status on segments.

Wow, i already have 148k PQMs

I’m a BCGer, just hit 1k, over $30k spend already. We buy expensive tickets.

Question for moms. I’m getting married next year and have several close family members that will have babies ages 8-11 months old by then. What are some ways I can support the moms and make it an enjoyable experience for them? We have a separate room at the venue that I was thinking could be offered to the parents to use, or potentially hiring a babysitter for them (either at the venue or back at the hotel). I would love for the families to be able to come, as it is out of town.

Hi, I'm an artist with 5 years of experience in the game developmentindustry.

After interview sessions, it comes to salary negotiation. To my surprise, the salary offer is below industry average, even more like junior-level salary.

Though my experience includes team leadership and I have described in detail how I could contribute to the company, the interviewer raised the offer, adding $300 only, still in junior salary range.

What does it really mean, and how do I win the negotiation?

TIA.

How would you leverage an existing rsu grant of a company that recently IPO-ed when negotiating a new grant in a new place (Series B tech firm).

Assume I have a grant worth of 300 that vests quarterly for the next 18months (in a current place that is already publicly traded)

Would kind of offer grant would you expect from high conviction Series B tech company if you wanted to switch? Would you be good with 1:1 match? would you be ok to get less because potential upside is higher?
