Why is the consulting industry still not facing the music for all the useless air travel and resulting impact on climate change ?

well it's not just consulting, it's sales, operations, and more. its more of a knock on airline travel than the people travelling...

I assume flying private makes you personally responsible for significantly more emissions

Omg I feel like you are the same Deloitte that posted this earlier and got a lot of feedback against your argument so you reposted.
Companies do not care about the environment...travel costs are baked into contracts and thus companies are able to staff from a huge pool resulting in less of a bench. I hate to be the one to open your eyes but nobody at the top is going to suggest radical change because it’s risky

Whoa. I think currently we a agree that it's real. The new debate is whether humans cause it or not 😂😂

I avoid the office and the client site as much as possible

Give me an alternative to a whiteboarding session with the same efficacy and I’ll listen.

We all don’t need to be at the client site every single day to have whiteboarding sessions. We can rotate days on site, go periodically. Flying 10 consultants out every week, posting them up at the Marriott all so they can sit in a little room hunched over their laptops is an insane waste of money. And, yes, it’s bad for the environment too. We can still fly out for key meetings and labs and whatnot, but the bulk of our time isn’t necessary.

Get off your high horse sir

Great. Woke Olympics has created the 'climate change in consulting' event. 30 minutes until the next one of these posts?

Lol woke Olympics. Def gonna use that

Don’t get me started on all of the power we burn running our laptops 12 hours / day...

And elevators, can’t we just walk the 12 floors to and from our hotelling space?

And the lotion bottles, thrown away after one “use” (ok maybe two “uses”)...

It’s a mess
