Hi! I have an extra $50K sitting in my savings account that I'm not totally sure what to do with. I'm split between just keeping it in there or investing it. I'd love to buy a property in the next year or two and would use that money as part of a down payment. Should I let it sit in savings for that purpose?

Will be getting proceeds from a house sale shortly ($175K or so), and then will be completing purchase of new house around December. Suggestions on best place to park the house sale proceeds in meantime? Looks like best savings rate our current bank can manage is .06% right now. Is consulting just not a place for people who struggle with mental health (MH)? I know I don’t like my current position but if even if I was doing work I enjoy I think I would still have my current issues being exasperated by related issues with managing multiple projects, not having a clear boss, overall stress, deadlines, project volatility, etc. overall I don’t feel mature/strong enough to work this type of job yet. How much money do you think is the point where happiness no longer increases with wages? I know a while ago 75k was the number but that seems out of date given inflation, house prices, and HCOL areas on the coasts.
Growing up poor I always thought making 100k at any point in my life would be amazing. However, I’m 24 and making 160k - more than I ever dreamed, but I know that if I want a family in HCOL, I’ll either need to make more or marry a partner who makes the same.
