So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

MICKEY MOUSE 😂😭😭😭😭

They don’t need to impress you. That comes after the offer.

Yeah, I wouldn’t do it myself or say people should, but that’s probably why.
Remember that while this is the most important thing happening in your day, they have a long day of client calls/ project work/ financials/ internal management to deal with. So yes, they don’t care that they’re in a Mickey Mouse t-shirt.
I would take it as a sign that people don’t take themselves too seriously and the sort of culture you’re walking into.
Wouldn’t care at all if you did
Why are you wearing a suit in a Zoom interview?
It’s an interview, I think it’s preferable to be over-dressed than potentially interview with a partner who’s old-school and thinks it’s “disrespectful” (happened with a friend)

You sure it wasn’t a McKinsey Mouse shirt bro?!?
Probably lead partner for the Disney account
Which firm had the vape? Bain?
Maybe because they are the ones doing the interview. They don't need to impress the person interviewed who's wearing a suit. The man who wears the suit needs to impress the man wearing the Mickey Mouse shirt. Lol.
Lol vape
I always try to be very attentive and engaged. That said, I don’t where a suit for any of my clients so I’m sure not dressing nice for an UG. Also, I definitely didn’t dress up for my Bain interview. Jeans and a button down
I would have ended the interview early if my interviewer took a hit from a vape pen.
I don't have the ambition to be successful at MBB so yes
This might be a sign of a culture mismatch. A lot of my non client zoom meetings have my fellow consultants in t-shirts and other casual attire. Attire at the office is still business casual but trending more towards casual.
If you're not comfortable in that environment, you may not want to do this job.
Lol which firm was hitting the vape
