Hello,
I have an accepted offer from Amazon with start date early next month. With the hiring freeze in place I am worried that layoffs will be next and new hires are more at risk when it comes to layoffs. This is making me wonder if it is good time to switch. Would really appreciate some input in this matter.

How to get job outside India?
Where to apply?
Spouse will not have any advantage to work like European countries.
I see you want to save more money ,in singapore savings will be less.
Worklife balance is very poor
Rentals if you are indian,Chinese no one is willing to rent you a house. google it you might know the situation
Visa mostly you will end up as a contract job ,because singapore is restricting employe visa in coming years Google it you might know .
Singapore is now focused on and inviting only rich people to their country.
Hope this helps.
Spouse need employer visa sponsorship.
Everything is expensive in Singapore. Even being paid well does not help you get decent lifestyle (own car, rent a big house, maids, etc) which many consider as basics in India. Hikes are not that great overall. No advantage of getting Singapore PR. Work life balance is way worse than India. Indians are looked down upon as labor class. This is specific to Big4. People move abroad just focusing on the term “on-site” without considering these facts. Move to a country which has some advantage apart from getting paid in Dollars.
Can u tell me about the work life balance ? How many hr they work ? Is there over time pay ?
SG is full of white people also. Like Aussie, UK etc. I am sure those guys don't do OT. Is it ? N don't go middle east if u want wlb. That's the last place u choose for employee rights n wlb.

The path to citizenship in Singapore is very tough. That is also one of the reasons few people don't move to Singapore.
The best is to try out in India and Singapore from a money perspective. For settlement perspective one can try UK, Canada or Australia. One more option is Nordic countries, if cold is ok for you then Nordic is also a good place but you may not be able to save much there also.
That’s because Singapore is one of the expensive countries to live in.
Rent will take 50-60% of your salary even you live in budget
In my analysis I got to know, that avg salary in Singapore is 12k SGD per month, 4k SGD goes towards stay, and 2k SGD towards living & transport, 1k towards tax. Even if we manage to save 5k and send it to India, it would be around 3lac (tax-free). Isn't that great? Currently, I am earning 2.1lac (post-tax) in India. Any comments on this? or looks like unfair calculations?
Yes, i know this is just a ballpark figure i got from going through several job posts on their govt portal. May be i was baised as i did not check for what post they were offering this salary.

10k sal is fine kya for a family of 4, including 1 kid and sr. citizen.
10k is not ok in Singapore unless u r jobless and in a bad situation.
is it advisable to leave job in India of salary around 35lpa and move to singapore with 12k SGD monthly salary .Family of 3,school going kid,12 YOE
ur Indian salary is more attractive, due to high cost of living in Singapore..... not sure about 3 members but u need around 2.2k for living alone modestly(sharing basis) in Singapore + u may face difficulty adjusting there since u have worked here for so many years .
