A big day for equality. Hopefully this will lead to more men feeling comfortable enough to share their stories of abuse.
And further down the line, hopefully this will be the first step towards the removal of this carefully constructed narrative by feminist groups that domestic abuse is a gendered issue.

Any of our personnel (AmLaw 50) are now freely allowed to work from home. Assistants and staff included. It’s the only humane thing to do right now.
Spread out while you eat, lol. Would love to see that in action. Will you each have your own table for 8?
Which firm? Call them out! Shame them! Are they actively forbidding you from working remotely or not officially given the green light?
Great question. I work in a mid sized firm in Western Pennsylvania- guessing we aren’t remote because most boomer shareholders don’t know how to work on their own/need an assistant. We have laptops and cellphones provided to us.
God, the boomers working from home are going to blast the Help Desk line.
Our firm has been sending very mixed messages but I don’t care. I’m working from home starting tomorrow.
I’m coming in tomorrow and that will be it whether they allow it or not
Overheard Partner: “we’re gonna have to close when someone gets the virus.”
That’s our WFH policy apparently.
If my partner allowed me to work from home she would be working from home as well. I can say without a doubt that if she worked from home she would be calling me at least once an hour to explain to her how remote access and track changes works. The effect is that I would be doing my own work, a paralegals work, and an IT persons work all at once. It’s more efficient to not shut down the office and beneficial to my sanity. (My partner is old AF).
Maybe they should retire
I have two little kids who are at our home most of the day. Working from home isn't an ideal solution for everyone. Plus client meetings, court, etc. A mandatory work-from-home directive would kill my practice. That being said, I am fine with anyone working from home who can make it work -- just trying to give you a little bit of perspective.
Which courts are closing? My husband works for a court and they're saying they can't close because it's an access to justice issue
Still business as usual at my firm. Got a half hearted email that we should stay home if we sick, but that’s it.
Wow! That’s not a half hearted email that’s a no-hearted email 😔
I just haven’t been going in? How are they going to know if you go in? And I don’t think anyone would say anything if you were working from home. People are pretty understanding.
Some firms don’t have the VPN bandwidth to handle it
Not an excuse
I work in corporate immigration, where 90%+ of our filings are required to be physically mailed to the government....complete WFH isn’t really an option, sadly. Our firm just announced a 50% rotational work from home program and that’s the best it’s gonna get.
