Gender Issue: someone in my family (Father 🙄) keeps iterating on the issue, that woman should never be allowed in to lead positions. Can't deal with it but have to start yelling at him. Anyone h
Expecting my first child in a couple months. Parents in India have been dying to come to the US but unable to due to the visa restrictions. Anyone know of any exceptions to the visa restrictions that may apply or any other workaround? (Besides staying in 3rd country for 14days) I am above 21, married, US citizen. Parents gave up their green cards and are on tourist visa 😔
If my wife and I are planning on having a baby next year which health plan should we sign up for?? 👪👨👩👧
This baby is competing with my Bose NC headphones. The baby is winning. (No fault or judgement to the mother.... I feel bad for her, she's a trooper).
I think my daughter has selective mutism. Any other parents here with a child with selective mutism have any recommendations on how I start this journey (books to read, tactical strategies, etc)
Moms, both husband and I are nearing the end of our parental leave. We live in a two bedroom in NYC. We are thinking of hiring a nanny. The plan is that I would work from one room and husband would work from another room. We can move the changing table and pack n play in the living room, and the nanny and the baby can hang in the living room. Does this sound like a good plan?
How do you deal with draining family members? My wonderful mother takes on a LOT to keep the family life running back home (across the country with matters that can't really be helped from afar). She's stressed and every time we chat it's just an endless swell of negativity and problems - we all have our own issues and just having to listen can drain me for the week. She blows through boundaries because she needs to vent and I'm not sure how to protect my energy and still be supportive. Ideas?
My husband and I are planning on starting a family in the next year or two. I enjoy working, so I don’t expect to be a stay at home mom. As of now, neither is my husband. At what age(or months) did you decided to bring your child to day care. Who watch your child before then? Our family does not live close by.
Went in for a scan yesterday because I was having spotting and cramping at 12 weeks. The OB saw fluid behind the baby’s neck and is referring us to see a high risk doctor immediately. NIPT was negative. I’m panicking. Have any of you been through this?
Doing some benchmarking as we revisit our leave policy. Do any of your firms offer external career coaching for transitioning into / then back from parental leave? Any organizations you’d recommend or things you’ve found to be particularly helpful / successful? Thank you!
What do parents do if their child is choiced and don't want their child to go to school? Will they lose choice? We haven't heard what's going on in this part.
Do you ever contemplate suicide, (without serious intent) over work frustration/stress? Having a really rough week and afraid I’m going to burst into tears if I explain to my team, but also don’t want to look like a baby.
My mom decided that tonight she’d confess: 25 yrs ago she told me my 1st choice college did not give us any financial aid and I couldn’t go there (so I went where we had it). She admitted I almost got a free ride but she didn’t want me to go there so she lied. I feel betrayed. Loved my school and have no regrets. Just feel manipulated.
What did you want to grow up to be when you were a child with no concept of real adult life? Me: giant fighting robot pilot (aka Voltron) or Gollum (can’t explain that 🤷🏻♂️)
Not a parent, but a big sis trying to help my mom out. My brother is 13, sister is 11, I’m 26!
Has anyone raised a baby/child while still teaching? Can it be done? I’m worried about money for childcare and fitting it all in schedule wise. I don’t want to derail my career, but a baby is a baby!
Hourglass/pear-shaped ladies - what did you wear while pregnant (besides whatever fit/partner’s tshirts)? I am still early in pregnancy but know I won’t be teeny tiny with a cute little bump. What types of clothes did you find were most flattering? I’m not planning on buying a whole new wardrobe but would like a few outfits that make me feel great. Thanks!
My roommate is denying to pay his share of rent he supposed to pay also which he has been paying till Dec 2020. This is not due to COVID but we had an argument using common places in Jan 21,until then he was paying his share of rent $1100 which he agreed to pay for the master bedroom which is quite large that he is occupying, after the brawl he is saying he can pay only equal share of the rent $1950/2 =$975, he also wants the extra money back that he claims that he extra paid. How do i solve ?

Pay at flatiron health?
W, St. Regis, or Las Alcobas in Mexico City? Also open to high-end boutique hotel recommendations...
When you call in sick but aren’t sure when you’ll be back in the office, do you just update your team daily about whether or not you’re coming back? Or call in sick once and don’t checkin until better
Hello everyone! This is my first time posting since joining this platform. I’m interested in connecting with someone who is open to HR mentoring. I’ve been in HR now for about six years and have never had a mentor. I’ve been relying mostly on SHRM and other people in the company for feedback. Even if it’s for feedback, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
Tips on kindly turning down an interview for one of your dream jobs, but maintaining a relationship? Loving my current gig and not in a place to leave, but might reconsider in a year or two.
Google Program Manager first round interview next week, on phone. What to expect? Thanks.
Is your rank / service line important for H1B specialty occupation? (Ie. Do consultants have higher chance of approval than auditors?
Seeing Mckinsey winning alot of COVID related work, makes me wonder which pandemic has Mckinsey had the biggest net impact on, Covid or Opiod crisis?
I graduated in May 2020 and found myself excepting a Junior Art Director position in Healthcare. I never saw myself in health but with many agencies having hiring freezes I decided to get some experience and save up some money in the meantime. Fast forward one year; I’ve added a new campaign to my website and I’m starting to apply to consumer agencies again. Any tips to help me make the transition? Any place to avoid? Who have you noticed is hiring again? Thanks in advance :)
Folks that have been laid off in their careers, did you take a pay cut in your rebound role? How big and how'd you cope?
Just graduated, been looking for jobs since January, just got rejected from the last interview I’ve had, have also done 6 internships at this point, deadass just thinking I’m not cut out for this shit
Any idea on the salaries on visa for sr testers?
Health care is being rationed in several states. This is getting serious. This is definitely worth learning more about as hospital refuse critically ill patients who do not have covid. Emergency rooms are literally flooded, critically ill pts (w covid) wait hours on end in their car to get in to see a doctor. What a MESS https://www.adn.com/nation-world/2021/09/13/alabama-man-dies-after-being-rejected-by-43-hospitals-in-3-states-family-says-as-covid-packs-icus/ https://www.marketwatch.com/amp/story/alaska-joins-idaho-in-rationing-health-care-as-hospitals-are-packed-with-covid-patients-and-who-says-africa-is-being-left-behind-in-vaccine-push-11631717516 https://www.adn.com/alaska-news/2021/09/14/amid-covid-19-overload-providence-alaska-medical-center-now-prioritizing-care-under-crisis-standards/
