Said this in the other thread below but it bears repeating: I like this a lot tbh. It’s not only “gOoD fOr ThE cAtEGoRy” but as WK continues to build trust with Macca’s client will hopefully see the value of good work and buy bolder, more creative thinking that’s not just product shots. We should all be rooting for the WK/McD relationship to succeed. If they can demonstrate effectiveness in their creative efforts, maybe more marketers will finally give it a chance.

your company name is clever @sansjob. i'm pulling for you too.

Having worked on this brand (a lot), this is fantastic. Dead-on brand and fun. It’s McDonald’s. There’s nothing new you can tell or convince the world about it. Just be yourself. Be true. Have fun. Be a bit clever. And this is.

WK gets overpraised on this board a lot, but this is the best spot I’ve seen McDonald’s do in years: smart, simple and culture-aware.

That feels like a harsh assessment. It’s simple and charming. I like the minimalism of it. Not every idea has to be earth shattering to be good.

Look at it like this. Is it good work for McDonald's?

Turning a client around takes time. You are only revealing a lack of experience by not understanding that. As an industry we should all be rooting for WK to prove that a meaningful long term creative relationship grows businesses.

Simple and aware. Love to +NY from +PDX.

It’s great. Simple. True. Right for the time and for the brand. And we’ll crafted.

I think the point is that they slammed unlimited for mediocre creative and then came out of the gate with this. The truth is both agencies dealt with the same tough client, one just had the benefit of being on the good side of the new CMO. If you’re going to boast, you better be willing to accept the criticism when you don’t follow through.

Don’t hate on the best agency of our time. Just be glad they’re out there showing us how it’s done. It’s solid AF.

This is an incredibly dumb thing to say CW2. So much good work has come out of the NY office.

Planning Director 1, they won like 10 lions and a bunch of pencils in a couple of years. So clearly a lot of the work was better.

@FCB1 Tell me one spot Unlimited did that was better?

FAMOUS PEOPLE EAT FOOD?!? Whoa. Mind. Blown. I noticed a couple of jokes about what certain people eat. Otherwise, most of it seems like “X celebrity ears these items” with no cleverness or fun or relation to the celebrity.

They get the benefit of the doubt because it’s not at the same level as their other work, which has been consistently good for years. They earned the benefit of the doubt. This points a huge finger at the client, not W+K.
