Wife 5 weeks pregnant, any recommendations for a good doctor in Manhattan. Preferably UES. Not happy with the current one - keeps trying to up-sell

Dr. Gary Markoff. Office is located midtown east but the practice delivers at mt.sinai. And they won’t see you before week 7. Delivered both my kids.

Agree with others. With my 3 I’ve never been seen before 8 weeks and only received two ultrasounds each time (8 weeks and 20 weeks). Ob felt others were unnecessary outside of that.

Thanks, may be I am overreacting - but I don’t feel OK going to a doctor who values money over health of their patients.

At 5 weeks pregnant they OBGYNs over here (Bay Area) dont even see you. Technically - they say - your wife had a missed period and first appointments are 9weeks onwards.

Second Dr. Jin at Cornell. She was great for me and have heard similar experiences from others

Mostly random tests like ultrasound every 2 weeks. Apart from cost the major worry is the safety. We don’t see any reason to expose mother and the baby to ultrasounds every 2 weeks, unless medically required.

Every two weeks for the entire pregnancy, or just in the beginning? About the extra tests, I feel like ues is target market for people willing to spend money on unnecessary things. When my doctor raised them, I declined, and she moved on no problem, no pressure. Also fwiw, an ultrasound tech mentioned to me that "most" of the women she sees are considered high risk, largely bc age>35, so I imagine some neighborhood practices probably go about things as high risk being standard practice. But you always have the right to opt out of anything. For sure find a doctor that isn't pushy about it. Good luck!

Agree with D1. they will not usually see you until closer to 8-9 weeks to confirm pregnancy. Can't even see anything at 5 weeks on ultrasound.

Sean O Henry. He’s the best!

I’ve also found there’s room for negotiation. Since I’ve had an issue free pregnancy, I’ve negotiated an extra week in between appointments and extended travel time.

Hello Fishes, its really strange to ask but I have no option left.
I have almost 2 years of gap in my career due to medical issues, but not its recovered and I am trying to rejoin again. I applied to so many places but has been seeing only rejections either due to gap and either due to my over qualification.
I am truly tired of applying and waiting for their call back and reverts, Its like getting into depression slowly slowly.
Is their any place where I can get hired soon. Please help me.

2nd Cousin has a Mexican boyfriend of 4 months and is 3 months pregnant - did not have conversations with her mother or her sister, close cousins before going forward. She’s feeling the lash back of a mother who’s looking to influence her decision and get an abortion before she starts this life. There are definitely some red flags with the guy with his income and that he doesn’t speak English, curious what others would do - what would your parents say? Mine would flip!

Hi Moms. I’m 4.5mo postpartum with my first, and I’m having incredible feelings of resentment toward my husband, who I love dearly and with whom I’ve always had a great relationship. It feels like he’s not factoring me or the baby into his decisions (e.g. going on a 4d boys trip, attending big events), while I’m left with the consequences. My mat leave is ending, and he’s now sick with COVID. He’s quarantining at my in-laws while I return to work and take care of baby. I’m so frustrated… (cont.)

Anyone else feel like family law is toxic and detrimental to the attorney’s health/quality of life? My client was served w/ an order of protection against her—her ex is abusive and is gearing up for a custody battle. Of course the OP was filled with outrageous lies. My home-office phone and cell were ringing from 9:00pm- 12 am after she was served…..I am in my first trimester of pregnancy with my 2nd kid and suddenly feel like I don’t want to/cannot handle this type of toxicity.…continued….

Ok so. I have been on this journey for almost a year now to try and 'get to know and love myself' and I'm not there yet. I separated from my ex in March of 2020 and divorce was finalized in October 2020. I'm still sad, lost, angry etc. I'm trying/tried therapy, meditation, ayurveda, self help videos, books, but I'm not happy with myself and I don't think I know myself. I want to be happy alone before I meet anyone new. Any tips or advice on how I can effectively accomplish this? Thank you!

I (36F) am married to another woman (34F) and we have a baby (5moF). We split all childcare, cleaning, meal prep, errands etc fairly evenly and it works well. Maybe she cooks more than I do bc she likes it, and I clean more bc I need to have a clean house. My friend (35F) recently took a business trip and literally put a binder together with instructions for her husband re: daycare drop off and pick up, what to feed the kids, when to take out the trash and so on. I visited a friends that has a 1 year old baby. She asked me if I wanted to get a dog, and then asked me if I wanted to get a plant 😂. She said it was a good way to start carrying for something else and get experience for the future. I think this is hillarious I don’t see how a dog or a plant will fulfill my life. 😂

Just a thought, perhaps the admin can pin two threads:

1) When / how did you tell your work you were pregnant?
2) Would you change jobs / interview while pregnant?

Both of these questions come up almost on a daily basis, we should have a centralized thread to help each other out. :)

Boss has WFH for 9months. I have been WFH for 2-weeks for travel quarantine/state guidelines. She now requires that I go back to the office to “show face” that HR is right alongside the essential employees. I have been more productive from home vs the office. I get the perspective of team unity, but is it wrong to feel there is no reason to risk my health? The company justifies increasing my covid risk (high-risk already) to “show face”, when my job is being fulfilled while WFH. Am I crazy?
