Very very popular area and the good apartments are getting snapped up left and right. My friend had an amazing amount of difficulty getting her 2 bed apartment. The area is very cool, but I prefer Lincoln Park/Lake view east. Admittedly this has a lot to do with the lakeshore trail
West loop / Fulton market is great. I wouldn’t go further west than what you’re looking at. You have United center to your sw and lots of industrial to your immediate nw. Other adjacent area to consider west town, like grand and Ogden. That way you get to Fulton in a few min but have the neighborhoody feel of west town.
Good stuff. That’s at the end of restaurant row on Randolph so good walkability and close to union park in the daytime. Walking distance to Reve Burger (and Ever, and Smyth/Loyalist) so prepare to gain 500 lbs.
Lake as a street feels sketch bc it’s under the L. Make sure that your unit isn’t impacted by noise from the train - if you are visiting be sure to have a few go by in different rooms, doors/windows open etc. Try to swing by at night to make sure you are comfortable. Bottom Lounge is a good music venue so see if you are bothered by street noise.
Fulton market is 100% where I would be looking.
Union park is beautiful, not a place people hang out after dark though. The neighborhood transitions pretty quickly, I’d visit in person before you sign a lease!
Makes sense, that’s I thought with respect to the neighborhood. Visiting over Memorial Day weekend so we will see!
i love that area, currently live here and it’s really nice. a lot of bars/restaurants and safety is good too. feel free to dm and i can answer more q’s about my apartment building specifically
Agree with this! Currently live in Madison/Racine intersection, love the fact it’s walking distance to all restaurants in WL but it is still quiet. Lots of options around you. Been here for over a year, haven’t felt unsafe, planning to stay at least another year :)
