I lean right and believe that most government is incapable of organizing a two car parade. For those who agree with me, and yet are vaccine skeptics, what would make you believe that the government could, in any way, organize some sort of master plan that would result in the death of a sizable portion of the population? Conspiracies require some semblance of competence. As such, government run conspiracies are an oxymoron.

likefunny

The government did also organize the rollout of the vaccine. Pretty sure there were more than two cars involved there. And not clown cars, either.

Good for you Op. Better late than never. Hope you all feel better soon. I was talking to my neighbor (an old white person) and he told me that one of his two sisters (they all live together) got covid and barely made it alive after 2-3 weeks of icu and now finally he took the vaccine. Glad it wasn’t too late for these poor folks. This is real 💩 so please take it seriously folks. Freedom is great but not at the cost of your life or others when you know it’s communicable that can happen to anyone anywhere.

Made me change my tune on the vaccine. I know there are 100s of variables as to who struggles with it and who doesn’t, but the fact that I’m asymptomatic and she almost died is enough for me to be a Covid vaccine advocate.

The “gun” is the potentially lethal virus, and it’s pointing at your lungs, heart, and kidneys. But, yeah, blame those liberal dictators for mandating the scary vaccine. Good god — man up and get the jabs already.

funny

It’s sad that politics even comes into whether you should get the vaccine or not. I can understand it influencing your views about mandating it, but whether the vaccine on its own is a good thing shouldn’t be political…

SA1, it feels like you did not bother to read Saleforce’s post. We are talking about people questioning the science/research behind the current COVID shots. I agree Salesforce 1. I find it really sad when someone refuses to get the vaccine because they are questioning the science. I told a family member that his decision… to not get the vaccine was moronic. He did not think the vaccine had been studied long enough. Then we got into a loud discussion. I had to explain the difference between calling him a moron vs saying his decision was moronic. A couple of weeks later, the relative informed me he got the first shot… and he wanted to make sure that I understood… he did not get the shot because of our discussion. All medication has side effects. The COVID vaccines have been studied more then Aspirin… which many people use.

I lean right and getting the covid vaccine wasn’t the political hill I was going to die on. Hope your wife gets better!

I’m genuinely sorry your family has gone through this. But really, it took her getting sick to realize this thing is no joke? I mean cmon, it’s been 18 months with plenty of coverage of deaths, suffering, and long Covid. You’re just lucky this didn’t turn into a hill you both literally died on. Genuinely do not understand the thought process here.

like

"I didn't think it would happen to *me!*" It's great to rethink this one thing, but I wish it invited rethinking more

I lean right too and know many who lean right and have received two doses of vaccine and a booster in some cases. Fighting science is not the right fight.

Political views shouldn’t matter with this decision… it’s a shame it’s at all predictive of behavior. It’s good to be a healthy amount of skeptical, but enormous amounts of data and studies show the vaccines are safe and effective. They unfortunately are not a magic bullet but making us 10x safer is a huge deal and worth the vaccine risks/side effects .

I’m 35 and healthy. I caught Covid before the vaccine was available to my age range. It almost took my life.

Good for you man. I’ve had a lot of people in my life change their tune once they or someone they knew got COVID. Hope you can convince others.

Gotta love this. Gross numbers matter when it comes to vaxxed people, but with the much larger number of unvaxxed who have died, all we get is: "But but the survival rate is [98%, 99%, whatever]" Come on, man!

The quality of leadership matters.

Good you learnt the lesson. Now educate others who are on the fence. TIA

With vaccines widely available, its natural selection at this point

My roommate has covid-like symptoms. He has not been tested yet but plans on finding someplace to get tested tomorrow but those results won’t be back for a couple days. I have a very important doctors visit on Friday that took months to get. I know I’m going to be asked covid screening questions before being let in to see the doctor. I don’t know how to respond but I also need to see this doctor as I’m out on medical leave and hoping this doctor can actually help me with what’s going on.
