Op, we have a 4 month old and we have a nanny. She takes pcr tests every 3-4 weeks. She travels from NJ to manhattan and changes into clean clothes after she comes over cause she takes the path train. Most of our friends in the city have nannies and we are doing just fine

We have nanny. Nanny gave us COVID. It was mild though. But that’s always a risk.

Why don’t you call your parents to take care or else I would go for day care

Yup, parents have stuff to do and what KPMG1 said.

I don't want to get vaccinated. I have debilitating anxiety, asthma, severe allergies to everything under the sun and afraid of a reaction. I have recently recovered from Covid too. I hate how ostracized society friends work everything is making me feel about this decision, which I know is only an inevitability at this point because my family is overseas and I can't not see them for the rest of my life. Anyone else in the same boat as me? PS. If ur here to bash on me keep it moving.

Visiting SO’s brother in nyc for the week. Mentioned wanting to invite my friend (female) to join us for Friday plans. Brother in laws wife is out of town that Friday but became somewhat uncomfortable when she realized my friend (who is considered hot) and goes oh it’s a hot girl? Brother in law was then like oh I don’t need to go then. I have my wife and my soon to be baby. Found it all very weird as I don’t mind SO going to see hot friends of the opposite sex but then again we are (cont’t)

Hey everyone! Recent transplant (26 F) who moved here during Covid (family reasons) so still not quite familiar with the areas. I’m currently living in Brentwood but looking to move. I’m considering Marina Del Rey as I want to be a bit closer to the office (in Venice) and the airport for when things open back up/travel resumes. I tried searching here but didn’t see a lot - what is the reputation of Mar Vista (and if possible - how is that different than Brentwood?). All opinions welcome! 🙂

Everyone talking about “re focusing on what matters”, or “putting things in perspective “... I have an awesome opportunity to apply for a promotion that would give me additional responsibilities but a faster track to leadership. I am also 10 weeks pregnant with my first confirmation appt next week. I want to go for it but feel bad about applying when I would go on mat leave in about 6-7 months, pending everything is on track with my first appt. Wanting advice on whether to apply or not and whether to disclose the pregnancy?

My bipolar father has ruined our whole family's lives. He won't take his medicine, keeps having episodes, and only cares about himself. I only feel hatred when I am around him or see his face. He has made us miserable. I don't know how to deal anymore. He doesn't even know me anymore, he doesn't know any of us, but will put up an act in front of the world. I don't know what having a dad looks like. Apologies for the vent.

Does anyone have any tips for how to get an exclusively breastfed baby to take a bottle. My son is 5 months old and since he was 1 month old, I pumped maybe twice a week and gave him the bottle. From around 2 weeks ago, he refuses to drink the bottle, even when he is very hungry. I have tried different bottles and ensure the temperature is warm. The milk tastes normal (I tried a bit!). :/

Was talking to this girl ( arranged marriage ) over the past couple of months(jun-sep) and things were progressing towards in the correct direction. During our inital conversion in the early stages, I had mentioned everything about my status (h1b. with early stages of perm,i-140 stage) and told her how she won't be able to get EAD immediately after coming the US) All of sudden she said(oct) she now does not want to come to the US as my status does not allow her to work immediately in the US.

Those who have evaluated switches from Consulting to Startups - any advice? Was offered a Bus Ops Assc. role at a Series A FinTech which is where I desire to take my career. Main item I am having trouble disaggregating is, by taking this role am I potentially taking a step back (likely promo Manager next year)? In one sense, I feel I could develop more in the startup role though moving to a IC role / 50k less salary if promo’d (w/ equity to be fair) doesn’t feel awesome. Lmk thoughts! Thanks.
