Yes, if she doesn’t comply with the maternity leave policy the firm will most likely seek reimbursement for whatever benefits she obtained. Advice would be to let the other job know of the situation and see if they can provide a sign on, later start date, etc
Yep, they'll definitely want money back
Tell her to go back for a short amount of time and then put her two week notice
Deloitte will want their benefits back...including the pay earned.
It likely depends how generous the maternity leave is. Are we talking six months fully paid or 12 weeks?
The total is 6 weeks short term disability (includes 1 week of “sick”) and 4 weeks of paid parental leave, anything beyond that is vacation or unpaid. She’s not on their health insurance so that’s not an issue
All depends on where she works. She needs to check the policy
Or negotiate the cost of leaving into a signing bonus
