I studied SCM in college but I’ve been working through tech implementations on the ptp side for about 4 years now - it’s been all indirect client work though and no supply chain. How tough is it to pivot to more process and supply chain based strategy projects - do I need to get my mba. At a smaller firm now and feel like I’d have to jump to an Accenture to actually have the ability to do that kind of work (logistics and trade optimization, planning, manufacturing)
Is there any good way to switch from industry into strategy consulting, but specifically as a generalist? Either in general, with/without MBA, or with/without in-house strategy experience
Curious, for folks in this bowl, in what stage of MBA are you? Feel free to comment or just 💜 to indicate. 1. Thinking about an MBA 2. Starting the application process 3. In the thick of applications 4. Waiting to hear/Choosing between offers 5. Deposited and ready to start 6. Current MBA student 7. MBA graduate
Thinking about leaving consulting. If I’m a 2nd year Senior Consultant, with 10 YOE total what’s the likelihood of exiting to a Director level role? I have experience managing direct and indirect reports prior to consulting and an MBA. Trying to figure out next steps and feeling kind of behind in my career right now.
Actively Looking for a Job change. Kindly help me with referrals. I work as a Software Engineer with 2.3 years of experience in Accenture. I have experience of working in many Docker, Kubernetes and many Devops tools like Jenkins, Terraform, Gitlab, Jira. I also have Azure fundamental certification with experience of working in Azure Devops.
What are the chances with McKinsey in a year if I got an initial recruiter call, but no interview. Experienced hire, post MBA Associate level.
How valuable is the CISSP? What are some situations where you find your CISSP to be valuable?
I will be graduating next month with my BBA in Finance. I am debating weather or not to go into grad school for my MBA. Still debating, haven’t made a decision. What do y’all think? Should I do it? Should I wait? Is it even worth it at all? Does it make a difference in my career? Please give me your advice. Thank y’all.
Anyone have opinions on the Pfizer MBA Summer Associate roles? Looking at Strategy & Consulting, Portfolio & Decision Analytics, Marketing Rotational Program - any experience / thoughts?
Is MBA required to become manager in Deloitte?
Any 2018 graduates plan on doing an MBA in 2023? I feel like I missed out on a year of in-person experience so I wouldn’t feel ready to submit R1/2 for next year. It feels like a lot of people start their mba 3-4 years after undergrad but I know that’s not always the case
Is M. Design from IIT-IDC Bombay really worth it? I am working for 1.5 years in a Hyderabad startup as UI/UX Designer. After Btech I did a certification in UI/UX and got job from the institute placement only. Will a master's from IIT-IDC Bombay will be worth or should I climb the regular conventional ladder by jumping from company to company for package hikes?
Should you add your credentials in your email signature? I put MBA in mine and I’m not taking it out. But I’ve heard mixed feedback about it on the internet. I feel that if my company will ignore a job application based on lack of a bachelor’s, then obviously they value education. Also, they paid for my MBA so obviously they want employees to have one.
An out of work (2 yr) Sr. Con with MBA from India wants to get back into Consulting (not her previous organization). Had resigned from Deloitte to start something of her own. What's her best option - a second MBA in the US??
I'm planning to take the PMP Exam this year. Looking for refferal on the best study materials/practice questions that I can make use of.
CEH or PMP next? I already have Security+ and will be starting at Booz soon as a SC. Any advice?
What helped you best figure out what you want to do post-MBA, and when did you know, relative to your application cycle?
Does attending MBA events help show interest/get in? I’ve noticed how keen they are about checking in and confirming attendance, but feel like I may be looking into this too much?

I’m tired of my life being ruined because someone Senior to me has children. Because of your choice I now have to have night calls because you can’t have it during the late afternoon? This is ridiculous. I’ll never be able to date and have kids of my own this way
Best book you’ve read in 2018?
I’m 29, make $300k (which I think is ok), but I get really nervous when I look at my 2/3rd degree LinkedIn contacts and they are making multi-million exits. I’m very grateful for where I am..
Would a lateral move to Accenture be a bad move as an experienced manager from PwC in technology consulting? End goal being fastest career progression. Is it a more reputable company in the space?
Booked a United international flight using miles and am 1k. It seems like I can't upgrade with global upgrade certificate or upgrade list - is there a way to upgrade without shelling out 100k points?
My RP actively discriminates against experienced hires (post-MBA), versus campus hires. How do I switch RPs/practices?
It’s 5 o’clock somewhere 🍸 Happy fly-day y’all
Fish fam could use some help. Have been extremely demotivated lately and slipped a bit on deadlines the past 2 weeks. Nothing actually missed, just not as responsive/quick on the turnaround as usual or needed reminders for status updates on items. Manager set up time for a chat tomorrow, pretty sure it’s to address these “performance issues”. What’s the best way to respond in a credible way beyond “sorry, will pick it up”. If pushed for a reason, what do I say beyond “exhausted and disengaged”?
Hello fishes, Request your feedback on following 2 offers: - PWC M&A Deals Transformation IT Manager - 175k Base, 25k Sign on - Capco Principal Consultant (Financial Services Industry) - 185k Base, No sign on Both have bonus based on performance (so not sure which one would be better). Also, I have 17 YOE in Finacial services industry, Which role seems to be worth down the line?
What should be the min salary for an associate consultant and consultant position at @Gartner, Canada ? And is it a good place to work compared to MBB?
Anyone know any good resources for learning to recruit out of consulting? So much info online about getting into consulting, not much about finding the best exit ops
Thinking about fostering or adopting a dog. Has anyone had any issues with this during covid times? Wondering how the larger demand of people wanting dogs is affecting things.
