Any insights on Protiviti’s data and analytics space? and also on so called ‘WLB’? 9years in analytics in Big 4 and looking to switch if that helps.
For those of you at a big 4 that left for industry, what do you miss (if anything), that you would have liked to "take" with you? Was it hard to move away from the "teaming" aspect and be an individual contributor?
Is it normal for teams to lose it on each other on a regular basis? I’m fairly new to the B4 and never experienced it at former firms. It starts at the top and it’s starting to take a toll on my performance. Not sure if I need to suck it up and deal with it or start thinking about changing teams. TIA
What’s the day to day like in audit at a big 4?
How difficult is it to be counseled out at Big 4 firms? Is it common or do you really have to mess up? Are any of the firms more cutthroat than the others?
Any partners who switched from B4 to MBB, if so what was your experience and how was the transition? Would you do it again?
What’s the worst career advice you’ve gotten?
Mulling over an offer. Is work at MBB way more work / significantly more intense than Big 4? I feel like I have a good brand/rep at EY; not sure if effort to rebuild all of that at MBB is worth it?
6 months into consulting and bored of being aligned to only 1 industry. Thinking of switching to a small firm but is there a long term career benefit of staying at a big 4 firm for a couple of years?
What the typical Sign On Bonus amount Big 4 companies offer ? Would be great if you can share the SOBs got? $, level?
Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls
Thoughts on Slalom v Big 4?
Asking for a friend.. Say you left an audit firm and entirely by chance you ended up working for an audit client's company (a Big 4 firm in this case), but for a different audit team. Is there anything you need to worry about for independence rules?
As a smaller player, how does Slalom differentiate itself in the market from Big 4 firms and how are they positioned to grow their business going forward compared to bigger firms like Accenture, MBB, Big4? Is it price? Quality of work? Specialized work? Curious to hear perspective from someone with experience or knowledge of the competitive landscape.
If I eat a pint of Ben and Jerry's Milk and Cookies ice cream every night but eat 100% healthily otherwise and exercise moderately, is that ok for my health? My life is in your hands.
Accidentally paid a personal expense using my corporate AMEX (thanks Apple Pay and my fat fingers). Do I need to do anything besides just pay it off?
Has anyone gone on a solo trip or a female travel group trip that has recommendations? I have a week between jobs and thinking of exploring a new city.
What is your opinion on a MS social studies teacher having a confederate flag hanging in their classroom?
Anyone transfer from Canada to the US? Making $105k CAD as an SC at D and Deloitte US is offering me $145k USD SC. On paper, it’s the same role (Salesforce) but has anyone transferred to provide insight on WLB, culture, etc?

How did you all handle like a family matter or traumatic event that happened while super busy at work? I’m finding myself being very unmotivated and unable to focus, but feel like I can’t take time off.
Going to Tokyo and Singapore in a few months for MBA global consulting trip. looking for any tips of places to eat and things to see while I’m there
Friend wants to join consulting for the pay. I don’t believe she has the aptitude or energy for it. We worked together in a much slower industry, and even there she complained of being overworked. I’ve sent her resources to polish up her resume and links for roles but she’s insisting on texting/long phone calls asking silly questions. Today she wants a resume review over zoom! She comes without having done her homework. How do I tell her I’ve given as much as I can? How do I decline referring?
For Enterprise level orgs in software space, who are your executive search or retained agency partners you would recommend?
How’s the consulting work life balance at Big 4 in Europe Do folks work more than 45 hours through the week and is it normal to have to work on weekends?
How long can you do the weekly travel before you need a break? I just hit 20 weeks including lots of Fridays at the client and weekend trips and wondering if it’s unreasonable to ask for a remote week
