To the extent this is allowed, could some EY NY folks DM me photos of the new EY office space in NY? Recently got an offer and plan on talking to more folks soon, so I definitely hope to hear their perspective, even though many have gone in a few times. Ultimately, I’m just curious as to what it looks like (and get a sneak peek of the view :0) Thanks all! EY
Thank you, Duke 1. I have explored Glassdoor for salaries for these types of roles. Given the current market, I’ve seen PM base salaries from $140k to $150k with a $25k to $30k sign on bonus with FAANG and HP’s other competitors. Would it be fair to negotiate this rate?
Totally fair to negotiate on whatever you're seeing as the market average. But like D1 said, make sure to up your initial ask, because HP will obviously be aiming to negotiate down. If you start by asking average, they'll try to work you down to a below-average number.
I always look to Glassdoor first for these kind of things! Looks like product managers at HP make somewhere between 120-125k. I’d also check out your program’s career reports and see what the avg starting salary in tech is.
Either way I think asking for at least $5k over those numbers is super reasonable and there are other aspects to the package like vacation, RSUs, signing bonus etc to negotiate if the salary is too low
Thank you, manager 1. I appreciate the comment. I’ll definitely be starting high and negotiating.
