Only Ferraris are allowed to be red. Show up in a 15-year-old red Boxster and they’ll laugh at you. If you must get a Porsche, it can be a shade of grey, including black and white, dark blue if a cheap one, powder blue allowed if really expensive limited edition. Brightest color you’re allowed is yellow.

The dark forrest green color?

Dude no one cares. Buy what you want. It literally doesn’t matter. If you’re not secure enough in your manhood to just make decisions without polling the peanut gallery every time you have to take a piss, you’re not gonna survive in this industry.

like

Might be time to start planning your exit buddy. Maybe not. But with what little time we get, hate to see a bright mind wasted on people who care about that.

Be modest self aware and fresh . Go green , go fun , go good taste

Dont get a porsche as an associate, thats cringe

Porsche is my favorite carmaker and i dont normally give af but i realize optics matter more than normal in this profession, what car would you suggest then?

likefunny

Get whatever car you want. If you’re judged for your car those aren’t the right people to be around anyways. At my firm associates drive civics, 3-series, Model 3s, Range Rovers, etc and no one cares. What matters more is whether you are doing a great job and learning a ton

like

My coworker pulls up in an Aventador and I pull up in a Mach-E. Both associates. You can pull up in a Porsche.

funny

Rents for about 10k/month

The new taupe/tan color from Porsche is pretty sexy and more conservative

Wont matter much as you won’t have time to drive it for fun anyways. Get something that’s good for a comfortable commute in traffic

Current role pros: a lot of responsibility, on investments team, like industry focus, good growth potential, CEO loves me, more “prestigious” for whatever that’s worth, learning more really smart people - new role pros: matched base and bonus, better WLB, carried interest - new role cons: switching out of investment to portfolio management, don’t like industry as much, less “prestige”, forgoing bonus I’ll get in March no sign on bonus

Currently an RX senior associate at A&M. Ive dealt with a fair amount of distressed pe firms and I'm pretty interested in the space. I think the skillset is much broader and opens me up to learning a lot of new skills. One thing Im curious about is how to make the move over to a invest role.

Ive toyed with the idea of doing a 2-3 year stint in RX IB at Houlian or a similar MM or EB but just am not sure if that's even needed. Anyone have some insight or suggestions they could offer? Im all ears
