I’m a new manager in IT and a friend and peer asked me to report to HR that she felt harassed by her director. Hired an attorney for a non-litigation personal matter. Started working with the attorney, but after I sent back answers to a questionnaire and asked for next step, no one from the team (the attorney, an associate and an assistant) responded to my emails (including follow-up) for over a week. What can I do? The attorney is at a local law firm and charges $450+/hour.

I feel like I’m fairly new to tech but not advancing in the manner that I should. I’ve reached out to others hoping to gain mentorship but I’ve never gotten one. Working at the service level is so draining and I’m ready to transition into other roles but I feel stuck. Is there anyone willing to offer sound advice?
