Setting up a pass thru business to funnel my earning thru, most likely a real estate business since that's what trump and corker have and this bill is slanted towards real estate folks

How does that help?

"Slanted towards real estate folks"? Maybe a few select groups....but as a whole the industry is going to take a hit as (I believe) the interest deduction is being decreased significantly.

If this isn’t tweaked in coming years to penalize Democratic heady states less, you might see more folks moving to places with lower income taxes. That’s just the market adjusting. Ironically, if enough do it, the GOP could lose some states if there is an influx of “big city folks”.

P1 northerners have been migrating to the south for jobs and lower taxes for years. But that’s just moving a vote from one state to another. Unless that person is going from a heavy blue state to a moderate red, it’s not going to help. In fact if they move from moderate blue to heavy red it will help republicans

Just finished my first year in Big 4 Tech Consulting. Got highest possible marks and am starting to get frustrated by lackluster learning opportunities (still have not met a soul that I work with in person) and the allure of consulting is completely dead for me at this point. I know the job market at Tech companies is hot right now… but I feel I may be a bit too early to jump ship. Should I wait until the first big promotion / increase for leverage, or is Big Tech actually hiring 1 YoE Analysts?

What comp can we expect to target after 2 YOE? I’m not miserable in consulting but don’t think I get paid enough. With my promotion in a month, I’ll be hitting 100k and I want to only leave if I can get 110k or more (going for strategy, PM, and a few startup roles). Is that realistic? whens the best time to leave for max comp in the long term?

Reviews came and went, was told was up for promotion then a wave of promos happened (April) and I wasn’t on the list. Been told it happens twice a year. Is this a load of BS to keep me where I am?

Finished my MBA and recieved a Senior Consultant offer from EY (3YOE). The pay (90 base+ 10 signing) is what I was making in manufacturing ops pre-MBA (with a guaranteed raise of 10% every year). Negotiating the pay right now but is it worth switching to consulting and taking this "pay cut"? Is the big4 grind worth?

I work at a traditional actuarial consulting firm on the heath benefits side and don’t really find the work very interesting. I’m kept by short term promise of a nice promotion, and competitive pay. I’ve recently started thinking about a next move, but am torn about which direction to go in. I’ve pondered a few options: working at a traditional carrier, switching to a different kind of consulting, or non-traditional work. All of my connections are in consulting not insurance, anyone have advice?

10+ YOE, experienced hire, and up for promotion to SC this year. My current project is straight up analyst work (absolutely no disrespect). I spend my days doing nothing but updating excel sheets, producing reports for slides, and doing extremely boring work (go into 100+ folders/excels and report back on who's completed what). I not only feel like this is BS, but I feel like it's going to screw up my promotion. I've never asked any analyst I have worked with to do this stuff, yet here I am...

A partner probably noticed that I was nervous and actually pulled me aside to tell me it’s ok etc. I’m obv grateful for the opportunity but just worried i will be seen as too introverted or not confident enough and be a problem in front of clients. My MBTI type is also “not consultant-y”. Any advice? TIA!
