Will I be more marketable in tax if I have a CPA and an EA or would the EA be a waste of time.

The only people I know who have an EA were people who were not CPAs or JDs and needed a designation to get promoted. If you want to show specialty after having CPA get a masters in tax.

like

EA would allow you to be more mobile since it’s good across the whole country, the CPA you would need to apply to each new state you go to

like

reciprocity fixes this. Just need to have your license for 5 years.

Also the EA is useless if you are a tax accountant who does any financial statement services (provisions, etc.)

like

CPA and MS tax is far more valuable than cpa/ea. I know only one person who went the EA route and it was for the reason noted above….needed for promotion in big4.

Thanks for the feedback. I just thought having an EA would be considered a speciality in tax since the CPA is broader accounting.

Do Recruiters and CDs have different opinion when it comes to evaluating portfolios? I understand that Recruiters are the "gate-keeper," but how does the evaluation differ between CDs and Recruiters?

Hey all, I am a contractor with Amazon (coming on 6 months) and they’ve shortened my contract and my offer for a full time role is on pause due to economic factors.

I have 2.5 years of recruiting from Sourcing to Full Cycle. If you have some opportunities available for a tech recruiter like myself please connect!

I have exceeded quota and my team still wants to hire me (I’d be happy to add references). If you would like to set up a chat, I’d be more than happy to oblige.
