Hello Everyone! Does anyone have a connection at Netflix ! I am an author/marketing associate and truly my dream job is to work on the team that creates/produces Drive to Survive. I am a huge F1 fan! However, I am willing to start where I can and work my way there! I was laid off due to Covid and just trying to get back into the field and industry I love.
It's layoff city here in Southfield.

You're a staff 1. Dont worry
The fact that you have such a concern and focus on getting your work right tells me you will do very well in PA or anywhere else. You would be surprised how much your Manager may be appreciating your diligence. Solicit feedback directly and make note of feedback points. Don’t take things too seriously - we are not in the business of saving lives!
Calm your ass down and enjoy the weekend.
I think its more important to focus on if you are improving or not. Everyone makes mistakes or drops the ball from time to time. But if you are starting to get the hang of the subject matter in which you are working, then that tells the manager that you are becoming more capable and possibly less dependant on his/her assistance. Thats really what matters most in your career as you grow in understanding and move up the ladder
Yeah you’ll be fired
I was in a similar experience a few months after I started. Chances are the manager sees your work ethic and your willingness to challenge yourself at something unfamiliar as positives. I.E. I doubt he or she expected you to be highly proficient in a short time. That being said, take all that into account plus what KPMG 1 said. You’re doing fine
You’re more likely to get fired for being the person that works on Friday instead of socializing than you are for not understanding complex auditing issues 5 months into the job
I don’t think you’ll be fired. Make sure to thank your manager for their guidance and seek frequent feedback....without being clingy. Managers don’t necessarily *like* working with staff directly and their egos need some stroking. Your work ethic speaks volumes tho so if you do get fired hmu and we’ll find you a spot at RSM.
Chill out, you’re probably stressing out your senior
If there was someone on my team at your level who needed to be fired I’d sure as shit not deal with them directly. When I directly work with a staff it means I think they’re competent
My head and the manager has to help me more. I try to work late when I get home on Friday nights to make up for it and stay past midnight to get work done. I am so disappointed in myself and I'm sure the manager has completely written me off by now since this is the only interaction I have with him.
Every staff feels like an idiot next to manager, if not they are ignorant about how much they don’t know yet - trust me your manager felt the same way when they started. The best way to feel better is ask for honest feedback from the manager - ask very directly if you are meeting their expectations and if not what you need to do different.
You’re a staff 1 so don’t stress out too much. You’ll be learning through your entire career. Every year you move up you’ll see new and different issues that you have to learn. Keep very detailed notes. When you finish an assignment, look at those notes and see if there is anything you need to address before submitting the project to your manager. Honestly putting in effort and being a team player is key in this job. So take notes, read your old textbooks, ask lots of questions, and keep up the hard work. Everyone will take notice.
You will be a high performer by posting a post like this. Period. So nothing to worry.
Cash confirmations are complex ?
Wow, what a stressful situation. I bet you’re doing just fine, if not better than what could be reasonably expected from someone who is learning :) go OP go!!!
