Hi all,
I just came to realise Deutsche Bank has a fixed rule of max 30 to 35 % hike on fixed component and remaining 10 to 15% variable i.e. total 50% max hike you can ask for no matter how good, skilled you are.
Is it true?

Maybe a little...but things are super busy across the board now so there’s a chance the hours are similar

It may be a bit less intense, but you will still run into late nights, weekends, and last-minute fire drills. And for a lot less pay, likely.

Yes, it will be better. But instead of thinking along Vault rankings, think about the type of corporate. There's a spectrum from fund formation to PE M&A in terms of how bad things are. You don't have to prove that you are a hardass by killing yourself. Think about pivoting a smidge to a practice area that's still interesting but not all-encompassing.
To add to this comment, odds are corporate will be stressful no matter where you are. I started in corporate at a small firm in a small market and worked crazy hours. Lateraled to biglaw, switched to real estate, and I'm working better hours than I was at a 30-lawyer firm no one has ever heard of.
Get out of corp if you want something less intense
