I’m depressed. Nothing unique about my depression - I’m in big law, my career defines me, when I’m not working I can’t find the will to get off the couch, I’m sad or I’m numb…I know I’m the only one that can make a change to my life…I’m on antidepressants. Just extremely unmotivated and paralyzed. Self-help books are not for me, but I am curious - has anyone tried a guided depression/anxiety journal? Any recommendations if so? Or, if you have experienced the same, what steps did you take?
Did research this one. Assuming the split follows the same rules as a merger and acquisition, NewCo would need to qualify under the Successor-in-Interest requirements.
Basically if NewCo can allow the worker to continue to perform duties in role for the same metropolitan area then that will satisfy the requirement. There will be additional documentation required to prove NewCo can take on the process. Not sure if NewCo can satisfy this with a blanket application or needs to do it on a per visa basis, hopefully the former as it’ll be allot less work and delays.
EY 3 - Thank you. Do you mind sharing the reference publications or links that support your research result above?
It took me wayyyy to long to realize this post was not about our AmEx….
Lol
It would affect the process if you are going to NewCo
I’m the part of business usually be forgotten by EY. You see what I mean here.
I am on this V &I call. So -refilling PERM is likely needed if going to new co. Did I get this right ?
Edit - they clarified that no need to restart the entire process. But likely to restart to last one to two steps. I mean … that’s still bad. There are three steps before i140, aren’t there?
EY10 - good point. I think the labor test is time sensitive. So yes, likely will need it. I feel like there is a group of people leaving because of this. If they need to refile, they might as well find a new job now. It’s talking about 4-6 months labor test plus 8 plus month of PERM. For those who haven’t got the i140 yet, this is not ideal going to new co.

Hhhhhh,
I think if we do split it’s going to take a long time to finalize.
Yeh, I know. But green card process also quite long. Worried if they need to redo some previous steps when split is done
I have my i140 with EY and then switched employers. Would that affect my gc petition?
No idea at all….
Really nervous about starting all over again it’s been a stressful enough process!
Same….
SaT webcast briefly went through this topic and the leadership said it's on the top of their list so don't worry too much
I mean the leadership has a solution. But the solution might not be best for the people affected by it.
