Hey everyone! I'm going into the third week of my tax internship at KPMG. It's been great so far but I have this gnawing feeling that I'm not good enough. How should I manage this feeling? So far I've worked on two different client engagements doing workpaper roll forwards and clearing client review notes. I've learned a ton so far but I'm very much an anxious perfectionist and don't want to let my teams down.

Kinda look like shoes prescribed by your ortho
In that case OP, you can wear it to the client site or office. No ones going to question a medical need
You’re a senior manager please have some dignity and get real shoes
These would be considered overdressed at most of my clients. God I love tech consulting
Bet most of them wear All Birds. Where’s the... oh here it is... 🤮
I have a couple of pairs but I haven’t worn them in forever. I don’t feel they look professional enough. I see some folks wearing them on my account though so you can see if you feel comfortable.
Or they can be great Friday shoes... if I were to ever go to the office. 🤣
Rising Star
I think nice dress shoes are one of the reasons we’re able to pull off jeans and a sport coat to clients.
I agree. With jeans/ABC pants, jacket and with my Strand or Park Avenue, I am good at clients. What I am hearing in this thread is that Cole Haan’s aren’t high quality enough to pull it off..
These look like orthopedic shoes
I think I could probably get away with it at client site but I’m not a fan of this style at all.
But you do you
Pro
Get a good pair of dress shoes that fit well instead. Just as comfortable and look a lot more professional. Don’t cheap out and make sure they fit well and you’re set for a decade.
PM1 I have a dozen Allen Edmonds. I am not considering them to save money. Rather looking at it as a comfortable option for travel, client and Fridays. With the trend of many of us wearing jeans and a jacket to our clients, can these work as well?
@OP This is entirely client and situation dependent. I have a couple pairs of very casual shoes for internal or tech offices, or AEs by color for more formal situations. I will push the envelope (will be the first one to dress more casual trying to set a new normal) so I completely get you here!
I am trying to push the envelope too!
These shoes, though comfortable looking, make you look like a youngster that wouldn’t but serious business shoes.
My mid-life crisis!
I would love to wear Allbirds at clients or in the office, alas
Me likey..
@op, what r those?
Those are Cole Haan Ultra Wingtip Oxfords
Like the air bubble? 😂😂
No. You should dress like a grown up.
