Will you go back to BSchool if starting out undergrad as MC associate in B4 for MBB and when (before/after promote senior)?

Two questions for those of you at Big 4/other national firms:

1) At what level do you really start to see the entire tax return from start to finish?

2) How much is the “why” emphasized in training new associates on how to perform certain tasks?

What level from industry would you need to join MBB as a Principal/AP vs Partner? Most Partners seem to be VP level from large corporates / CSuite from well known startups

I’m at a known but low tier firm with 3 yoe. If aiming for a Big 4, or say Slalom/ZS, is there an ideal career level for “outsider” applicants? Since I didn’t get there out of college, maybe the next best time will be coming out of an MBA program? I feel like I’m in that in between spot. Can’t apply to undergrad entry level roles and too inexperienced for manager roles.
