Federal Register confirms 2023’s 8.7% COL increase. Associate at Ogletree and my expected 2023 base salary will NOT reflect a full 8.7% increase from my 2022 salary. So I’ll effectively accept a pay cut IF I stay with OD in 2023. Also seems to mean my added yr of seniority/experience is effectively not accounted for in 2023’s salary. Is this a universal experience across comparable firms or are other firms doing across-the-board increases in light of 2023’s 8.7% COL jump? Am I overthinking this?

I’ve got about 20 years cross channel experience in marketing, split between big brands and startups, and I’m considering pivoting into a data science/data analyst role. I know it will initially be a step back in comp but is it at all realistic for a person with certificate level experience in data analysis but a decent marketing management background to expect $150-200k comp or is that mostly for degreed candidates (or not realistic at all)? Any guidance here is greatly appreciated.

Need some advise! When I get asked what salary range a role is, I honestly don’t know how to answer. How we hire is based upon the interview process and tech screen. I’ve been telling candidates “the starting base for this role is x but is dependent on the interview” obviously they think what I’ve provided is what they’ll get. How to constructively talk about the long term future with SO? We (both 26) have been together 6 years with the last 3 as LDR. I was checking and comparing healthcare costs for the two companies my spouse and I work for. For me with HSA it is around $900 per month for just Medical, Vision and Dental. For my wife (with HSA) it is $300 per month. Both have $3000 deductible. My out of pocket max is $14000 while my wife’s is $7000. All of these numbers are for a family of 4. Why do we have such a huge difference in healthcare costs for similar coverage? My wife’s company is 30K employees and my company is 300K employees.
