I'm seeing new joiners with 7 years experience coming in at consultant level L9 in my practice because they have no consulting experience, only industry

Yep. This was me. And it's an appropriate level to start. Might even be a bit tough to start here. But once you figure out the consulting stuff you can rocket up to L6 in a few years.

Manager

Kind of depends on the practice area as well as your current title. Accenture likely won’t up level you from your EY title if in the same role- we are hurting for people but only do that if you meet certain intangible criteria that the group needs.

Manager L8 or L7 depending on the group

I came in with 7 years of industry experience at level9 because they said that I don't have consulting experience. I will say probably lvl7 from that comment :)

Question for the ladies: I'm getting sick of spending so much time getting ready for work. Would it really matter if I tried less (eg wore my hair in a bun everyday, wore less makeup)?

To significant other: Yea I took PTO today. (Proceed to get on 2 hr call, 30 minute post call, 2 hr of churning out client request, review of deliverable by partner, issue to client. And its 7PM.

Want to leave consulting; burned out (up for manager this year). But I fear that industry doesn’t have the same $ trajectory as consulting. Thoughts from those that made the jump?
