With all the beach pictures going on- feel super uncomfortable going because I have to take my shirt off and showcase to the world I have horrible stretch marks on my hips and no abs. I usually hide by wearing a throwback bball jersey….hope I’m not the only one that feels this way.

I've learned as I have gotten older that I don't care. Nobody has a perfect body. Even those that "look" good have flaws. Enjoy life, throw caution to the wind, yolo.

You’re not the only one that feels this way but I PROMISE YOU, nobody cares. At most some random stranger judges you for 1 minute tops and then life goes on. Go to the beach and enjoy yourself.

Why don’t you wear a rash guard? Do you not know about these? Everyone wears them for “UV protection” when they swim ; ) They dry in minutes.

I’m sorry you are feeling so negative about yourself, OP, and can’t enjoy beach day without being self-conscious. But I applaud you for still going. Continue to do so. My favorite family photos are faded b&w ones of my dad’s female relatives at the beach in NJ in the 1930s. They are all by today’s standards morbidly obese. They are all wearing bathing suits. They are having a blast and laughing hysterically in each picture. I love those pictures because you can tell they dngaf about anything else but having a good time together. Some of them were elderly women when I was a child, some had already died. In those pictures they are forever in their early 20s drinking some beer in the sand. I don’t see their flab when I look at those pictures.

I just got back from the beach and I wore a bikini and I’m a short fat women. I swam, walked, and just chilled all day. No one said anything to me aside from asking me where I’m from, offering to help me dig the hole for my umbrella, and generally just vibing. I had the best time even though I’m definitely fat and not at my own feel best weight. Go live your life. Take the pictures. Take the cover up off and enjoy the damn beach.

Go to the beach. If you feel uncomfortable taking pics, then just put the throwback on or opt not to take one. Most people are self-conscious about their bodies. I guarantee you they’re more busy thinking about themselves that looking at strangers. Live your life and enjoy the beautiful weather!

You’ll never see those people again and they won’t even remember you. Live your life!

Confidence baby! Live life

You’re definitely not the only one and honestly, even the people who fit into our society’s beauty standards likely have insecurities. Own who you are and try to accept your body for what it is. Your body is what your body is. You can’t change it. The lives we live are too short to allow for what others might think of us to stop us. And I’m not going to say people won’t judge you, cuz maybe they will! In fact, people are super judgmental. But how much are you willing to stop your own life enjoyment due to the fear of judgment by people who… let’s be serious, aren’t the people who you’d want in your inner circle. Try surrounding yourself with people won’t judge the lack of abs and stretch marks. And own those stretch marks!! They are proof of life! You are ok just the way you are. ❤️❤️
