No kids (yet?) But started my MBA yesterday. Eager to hear some responses to this good question.
Upper education is a joke, most entry level consulting jobs you could get a high performing high schooler up to speed in about a year. MBAs are just a way to pay for a degree
And that’s why you work at KPMG 😂
My kids are early teens but still have a lot of afternoon/ evening sports and such. Doing online MBA which takes about 3 hours a night for 2-3 days a week, and about 4-5 hours on a Saturday or Sunday. Some weekends are full days worth of work. It does take away a bunch of family time but I make up for it on the days I’m not in class. Spouse works also, so we’re basically on the go non stop. Has it helped? Ask me again in a few months when I get a new job 🥴
With a kid that age I think it would be a challenge because they are unpredictable. My kids were vastly different from each other when they were that age. My wife took a few years off work until they were like 3 years old.
I have 2 kids both under 3 years old. Went in person after work 2 times a week and got home at 11pm. Didn’t see them for two days which was the hardest part about the whole program for me. I was always tired and exhausted but at the end of the day it was worth it for me. I am now in multiple interviews that will increase my pay about 30k. Total MBA program for me was 25k. Got half of it paid for through work.

Mine was an evening program and I was doing full time with my creature. Twice a week in person and worked 90+ hrs a week. Did it the same way as my undergrad- do as much as you can off your phone. Took train home to work on stuff during commute too.
