With the aging baby boomer population, I’ve read that healthcare companies are a solid investment. Any suggestions on companies and/or technologies to look into?

Biotech companies are an interesting buy. Speculative for the most part, but could pay off later. I bought a decent amount of moderna at $14 a share. Only reason is because I read about the company and think they’re interesting. They also tanked a bit after their IPO, so I doubled down because I’m a gambling man!

I don’t like healthcare stocks because the cost of healthcare is increasing, which means bankruptcy for people without insurance. Don’t know exactly how those things fit together, but I think prices will keep rising because of this and the cat and mouse games going on with health insurance companies.

Healthcare for all is interesting - I’m not sure how that would end up affecting healthcare stocks if one of those crazies gets elected 😆

As for something like CVS, I don’t think they’re a good buy. You can buy most of the crap they have online or at walmart for half the price.

I’m just rambling now and had a few wines so I’ll read this over in the morning to see if it makes sense 😃

My company (a renewable energy developer) is being acquired by a much larger energy company in a platform deal. I'm currently part of a 3 person legal team, with each attorney supporting different parts of the business, and having different areas of expertise. Anyone have any insight into the impact/fallout of these types of deals on the acquired company's legal department? I'm being told everything will be the same (but with better benefits), but who knows!

Just scheduled a meeting to go over an offer for a Senior Engineer role. When asked what I would need to make in order to leave my current job, I said at least $160k depending on benefits (I know I shouldn't have given a number).

I make a little over $145k now, plus stock options, a monthly home office stipend (fully remote), and your usual health benefits.

Assuming their benefits are comparable to my current position, have I given up all negotiation power by providing the initial number?

I’m client side now at a big corporation’s in-house agency and I cannot imagine going back to 60+ hour weeks, low pay, minimal benefits, and the uncertainty/anxiety of agency life.

Neither my husband nor I are good with change and when my husband and I went for the ultrasound he nervously asked "she's too sick to eat anything other than her vitamins and water, is it ok for her and the baby to go without?" Our doctor just smiled and replied "don't worry, baby takes" I don't know why but that was so funny to us. It kind of became our mantra as we navigate and move our life around that "baby takes," its made it feel more Us vs Change rather than Me vs Him. Thought I'd share
