Does anybody have any advice when applying to postings with many applicants and getting noticed? The company I am interested in is Figma, and though I reached out to a few technical recruiters after applying through LinkedIn, I am wondering if there might be something more I could do that maybe I’m not thinking about. Also along those lines, if anybody here works for figma I would love the chance to connect

Yeah. Their guidelines have long been about that. They've been saying to only quarantine for 5 days — rather than, you know, until feeling better and testing negative — precisely because of lobbying pressure to get people back to work. That's right, their recommendations literally did not even include a negative test to show you're not shedding the virus.
The CDC has clowned itself from the beginning on this whole thing, changing directions and never communicating clearly. We're also the only country in the world that made *toddlers* mask up.
Smart companies will stay flexible regardless though. It's not like anybody has any reason to base decisions on the CDC any more.
idk, part of me thinks that the companies who are really wanting RTO have already started the process by now but if there are businesses that have had trouble getting people back to the office, I imagine they will try to use the new loosen guidelines to force the issue
I’ve been in the office three times a week for the past four months now. It sucks.
Nahh monkey pox
Anyone else in this thread never had covid? I haven’t (to my knowledge) and I never stopped masking and I don’t eat inside at restaurants or anything. We’re supposed to be back in the office after labor day. My bosses have already said there will always be a remote option. The time I have spent in the office was me in a mask. I get other people want this to be over, but I don’t want to get covid just cuz (yes, vaccinated and boosted but have an underlying health issue, parents over 70 and an immune-compromised niece). I’d like to feel comfortable inside without a mask and go back to normal life, believe me. But it just feels like it’s never gonna happen.
Yeah I've never had covid and have similar feelings. My cardiologist reallly wants me to keep avoiding it but I really don't want to keep living like this. The only people I see on a regular basis are my doctors.
Hoping the next round of vaccines are better at prevention. Doubtful though.
