With the EOY approaching, I’m curious what other companies policies are on PTO rollover. Does your company let you rollover a year’s worth, or more or less? Mine used to allow a years worth plus 10 days, but they just recently capped it to a year’s worth!

We have unlimited PTO but 56 hours of sick time will roll over with the max allowed being 112 hours so that’s nice!

Hello, I am a new grad with a doctorate in OT. I just got an offer for a job working at a private school. The offer is 58K with benefits. 15 days PTO. Do you guys think I can negotiate the salary to 70K, which based on my research is the average pay for my level of experience and education? Or is that too much to ask?

I work for a CPA firm, 45-50 employees, and we're looking at expanding our benefits package. Right now, we only offer 2 or 3 weeks vacation, 1 week paid sick time, healthcare, 401(k) with profit sharing, and Life/Long-term disability coverage. No dental, no parental leave, no ST disability, no EAP etc.

Could anyone else in this industry, or in another professional services industry, weigh in on what benefits you offer and which ones are most popular?

Thanks all!!

Early on in the interview process with one of the big 4 firms. Interviewing for manager for one of the national tax group (somewhat specialized I guess). As an M2 my salary expectations are $145-150k (which would be 20% increase) when they asked me for MCOL. They responded too high. Is it really or they are just trying to start lower in case there is a negotiation?

SO beyond frustrated with my work environment I think it may be time to leave for good. I returned from maternity leave after 4 years of working at my very old-school, boys club, nepotism-friendly company. Hi all! I’m an engineer working in the global health space and I’m finding it’s a small, small pool. I also just found out that a new hire (male, also an engineer) is the reason I got a raise after ~5 years of stagnancy. I love my job, but it’s time to move on. Anyone who’s worked in nonprofit spaces - did you stay? Did you switch to consulting/government/etc or go corporate? I’ve been applying without much response, and I’m debating whether a PMP very or masters is going to be necessary.
