I don’t know what rules apply at the VP level, but down here, we have to watch videos every year telling us not to buy gifts for clients. These videos tell us about how we’ll get fired or the firm will get sued or audited or punished by the IRS

Same here. We can basically give them a firm issued holiday card I believe.

E-cards since clients are rarely in the office.

Anyone have menstrual complications after their covid vaccine so bad they ended up calling their doctors? What did they do for you? I have had my period for 6 weeks straight after the covid vaccine. I am miserable, scared and in pain. Just need to know I’m not the only one and things will get better.

Interviewing with some companies - despite great feedback at interviews, they are all trying to slot me in at an independent contributor level or an level lower than my current. Feeling frustrated - male colleagues are getting lateral positions or a level above current. Need I mention I am also up for promotion at current firm. Has anyone experienced this? Is this bias or just a symptom of the Covid economy?

Did I screw myself by being the first person to bring up salary figures with a startup? I tried to hold firm and make sure they said ballpark range first before I said if those align with my expectations, but she gave a vague “it depends on market, but I can give you a broad range from $45k-$90k for the role.” So I responded with $70k-$80k. Should I have asked for the highest range then of $80k-$90k? Worst case scenario, I don’t want it being revoked.
