Hi Fishes, We are seeing layoffs everywhere, even Microsoft started laying off its employees as part of realignment. I resigned from TCS and 29th July is my LWD. I have offers from Nagarro, Q2 and Publicis Sapient. Considering the upcoming recession and economic slowdown should revoke my resignation and stay in TCS for the time being? Or shall I switch with any of the offers in hand? Your help will be very much appreciated. Tata Consultancy IBM Infosys L&T Technology Services Cognizant Nagarro

Yes. I feel stuck but I know it could be worse
True definitely could be worse. I’m grateful I have a job but want to pivot so badly
Yes I do
Ugh 😣
People have been predicting (and some wishing for) a recession for nearly four years and it has yet to happen. And Monday's stock market jolt was also not much of an indicator. Stocks are up today, and they're up big on the year. Having said that, it doesn't mean people won't get laid off. The contagion of layoffs in the past year happened with no recession.
Im just tired of spending so much money. It’s honestly just getting ridiculous

I’m hoping we can weather it without too much craziness
I’m essentially stuck in my job tho 🤷🏻♂️

Don’t think I will be laid off but you never know. I’m definitely stuck in my current job but want to move up elsewhere if I have the chance.
Right never know but honestly I have no hopes of moving up. A lot of companies’ profits just aren’t doing well
I feel relatively secure in my role because I’m a bench scientist so not as easily replaced or outsourced (for now). I’m not very high up the totem pole so there wouldn’t be a major cost savings with laying me off
Yea same here I feel very secure too because of those reasons
Yep! My department is doing decently and my leader is reluctant to lay people off. I think we've had enough attrition to necessitate letting go of more personnel
As someone who has been searching for over a year now, I have seen a big slowdown in interviews. That could be due to Summer, or the potential for a recession. I don't think high interest rates are helping the job search scene.
