With the independence rules, are you able to invest yourself in companies that you are not party to?

Invest yourself? Impossible.
Invest your money? Depends, each firm should have a database that tells you what you can invest in. 99% of the time if the firm does any work for a company, then they will be restricted to some level. If you are a staff/senior, you have fewer restrictions though.

All the firms have gotten flat stupid about independence restrictions. It is just insane and so far beyond the legal rules it isn’t even funny

Hey folks, hope you’re all having a not-so-blue Monday. I’m new to EY and was wondering if the firm does annual raises? I joined as an SC and wondering if my base salary will be adjusted annually by a fixed % for inflation or a variable % based on performance? Or if the only way to increase my base pay is to get promoted to manager? Thanks for your help!

My client things change management is a band aid for poor/nonexistent operational policies. For example: someone isn’t reporting to the right team? It’s a change management issue.
