Hello all! I am currently a P&C Client Manager for the 15th largest broker in the US. When I joined my company, I was brought on as an assistant for a former employee who taught me everything I know about my role. I came with on no prior insurance experience but caught on quick. I am about 4 years in now, on a team with newer employees, working on the same accounts plus new ones. One assistant and one Senior Client Manager. (Continued in comments)

Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

I'm currently a Senior Data Analyst. Over the past 5 years I've worked in marketing analytics and currently in supply chain analytics however, I'm looking to get into a product analytics(senior) role. I've been seeing job postings which requires A/B testing experience which is not something I have done professionally in my analytics journey. Any suggestions how I should break into product analytics?
Would love to chat if anyone is hiring for such a role!
Job postings from “Crossover for work”, director jobs are over 400-500k as per posting. Is that real? What’s the catch?

Agile project delivery - Fact or Fiction?
The places I’ve worked at, as much as they say they delivery projects via agile, rarely achieve this (mostly waterfall with a small sprinkling of agile words thrown in for good measure).
Google / Facebook (Meta) / Amazon / Tesla / Apple / anyone else - please tell me that agile project delivery exists (and how have you made this possible in your company?)
Hi everyone, I recently found a Resume AI bot that helps with formulating your resume with AI. It is in preliminary stages, however, if you sign up with the link provided, you’ll be added to their waitlist! This seems like a very beneficial tool for breaking into your future careers.

Fellow techies, or people in product - what are your opinions about trying to switch jobs for a larger salary? I am underpaid as I work for a small firm but I am happy where I am and there is job security. The economy does not look promising with layoffs and recession symptoms… what would you recommend? Stay or take a new job for significant pay raise?

From a strictly ethical standpoint, businesses do have an obligation to cut ties with countries/companies/groups that are hurting others.
Well, supposedly it's the government's thing. Private companies don't necessarily have a hand in government policies. It would be ideal to boycott Russia but I'm afraid of generalizing the take on all companies based there.
Ha, Russian. What about the Chinese that are letting it happen?
What about the Chinese that will end up being the next to take over Taiwan
Too early to tell, I think they've been preparing for it for quite some time so I'm not sure cutting ties would have any effect. It might hurt less for Russia than for the company doing business in Russia.
If the company only has Russian clients then perhaps, it's not wise to cut off ties immediately and inflict self harm. But if Russian companies are the vendors and there are other competitors, then it should be an easy switch. Companies swap vendors and partnerships all the time. Not saying it's easy but very much a common part of business relationships.
Yes, cut ties. Make the Russian people understand they can’t continue supporting Putin. Check if your 1st tier vendors have their own connections to Russian companies too, and ask them to cut ties as well.
I dont agree. I work with a lot of russians. They dont support the war either.
Also, some of my friendliest and kindest friends are americans. Is it ok that their livelihoods be affected just because their country is the most war mongering and war profiteering country in the world?
Tbh, i dont know what the answer is. US is a war economy. It contributed a lot to the growth of their economy and to the luxuries americans enjoy.
Having said that, US also does a lot of business globally. So even though im not american, I do enjoy some of those money as my clients are americans.
These blood money flows around the world.
Hmm, where do you work right now?
I think it's definitely worth bringing up at work, but it all depends. Low level companies are often tied to these distributors, but I feel the larger companies have a moral responsibility to put that additional pressure on Putin.
You should cut the ties if possible.
If countries starts cutting ties with countries that starts war, then US would be the first on the list
