With this Thursday off and Friday off, how should we approach our billables? Work those mornings? Or double up Saturday and Sunday?

Option 3: enjoy the time off and don’t bill unless there’s something truly time sensitive that needs to be handled.

This is the correct choice

Clean your inbox up and deal with straggling files on Thursday and then forget about anything else (unless urgent) until you come back. Nobody expects you to be billing when there’s no urgent work. Great way to burn out though.

If you’re approaching the end of your billable year and need the hours, work. If not — barring any emergencies or pending deadlines — don’t.

What do you mean by “off”? I’m not familiar with this concept.

Nope just tired of partners acting like no one deserves off

Just. Don’t. Do. It.

Hi folks, I have recently joined Publicis Sapient taking an offer of 14.4 LPA. I have total 4.5 years of experience and my previous CTC was around 3.4 LPA. I had various offers in hand but not one to counter this one and PS is providing me 4x+, so I couldn't negotiate much.

Another thing is I was an immediate joiner as I had left my previous organisation 3 months ago so I couldn't wait to think about this offer.

But now I think it's low, what do you think please let me know and suggest.

I am a CPA based out of Canada. I have 7 years of corporate finance and FP&A work under my belt. My fiancé will be starting dental school in NZ by Feb’23. Aiming to be a direct flight away from her, I have started looking into work opportunities in Australia. Can any expat here share their experience with getting a job as a foreigner? Are there any recruitment firms that specialize in working with expat talent? What was the biggest culture shock moving to Australia?

This might be a dumb question, but I’m relatively new to marketing and trying to learn about different types of agencies. Are media agencies involved in the creative process at all or it’s literally just media planning and buying? I’m looking at different company websites like omd, mindshare, etc. and it looks to me like they are doing projects that creative agencies typically do. Is there a big difference these days between a creative agency and a media agency or there is a lot of overlap?

Plaintiffs counsel took my clients deposition today. He mentioned that he would likely be ordering the transcripts and I suggested we split the cost of them (in front of court reporter). He got pretty defensive and said absolutely not, it’s unfair to the court reporter, and that it is frowned upon in the industry to do that. Each party orders (and pays for) their own copy. I’m in my 2nd year of practice, never heard such a thing. I’ve actually split the cost before! Curious for insight on this…

California attorneys — I am having difficulty finding authority concerning the use of a rejected (partial) settlement offer to claim that a party failed to mitigate their damages. I.E. plaintiff could have mitigated if they accepted the (partial) settlement offer. Defendant offered to settle one claim (without affecting the others). Plaintiff rejected. The value of damages has increased over time and now defendant claims that plaintiff failed to mitigate because they did not accept the offer. TY
