Definitely less days than when I had 15 days of PTO
25-30 days.
I was aiming for 20 because thatās how much I got from my last job. I might aim for a few more days now based you guys response! š
a recruitment agency in the UK (called Unknown) just switched from unlimited PTO for their employees to 31 days, because they noticed employees took less holidays for fear of seeming greedy, peer pressure, etc. Studies confirm this is not exclusive to them.
Maybe it's time to give employees sincere concessions instead of this fake new work that's just more employer overreach in disguise.
25-30 days
Pre Covid w unlimited pto I was on track for like 50 days offā¦. BUT! Some of those I was āon callā just in case something popped up. I made sure all my work was done and my boss was cool with every single day I took
Planning on doing around 25 days.
25-30 days
Iāve been at my new job with āunlimited PTOā for 9 months and havenāt had a single day off. I keep getting asked by management what I think my next project will be rather than when Iām taking some well-deserved time off.
Worked at a place with unlimited PTO, but my request were always met with āitās not a good time, we donāt have coverageā so I ended up getting approved for one glorious day. Itās really up to the culture not the policy. But Iād set boundaries and expectations as soon as possible because itās really hard to set them up later.
3 full weeks off and then a some days here and there for long weekends here and there
2 x 2-week vacations, plus sporadic days off here and there. Soā¦ between 5 and 6 weeks. Not including sick days
Love taking a day off here or there to extend a weekend, then aim for a couple full weeks off for larger vacays. Donāt feel guilty for taking the time off. As long as thereās communication you have every right to take it off, and your company should work with you to ensure you get those days.
Places I've worked at usually give me around 20 days PTO a year and statutory sick leave.
I know it's not unlimited, but decided to weigh in because I rarely take any time off at all despite having the opportunity.
Why do you think youāre so concerned by inconveniencing others? Do they think of you when taking their days off? Start small - take 3 day weekends, 4 days weekends. Do that every month. Go somewhere or binge Netflix. It doesnāt matter. Just enjoy not working. Fix it before you burn yourself out.
Not as many as I should, but thatās on me. I aim to give myself at least 10.
Iāll prob end up taking 20 total
