I just gave notice after 7 months for a better role. I felt sick and was so nervous giving my resignation but knew it was the best decision for me. I know it’s hard leaving people in what you think is a bad spot, but the company will move on very quickly and life will go on for all. If it’s a role you’re really excited about, do it!
Thank you! I hope you are really excited about the new role and that it goes great for you!
Sounds like a no brainer. Don’t feel guilty for doing what’s best for you
Think about how quickly they'd replace you if something happened. At the end of the day, it's business and you have to do what's best for you and your future.
So true!!!
Go for it!

They’ll have a job posting up before you leave and not think twice about the search for your backfill, it’s just business. Don’t worry about and do what you need for you
That same company you’re worried about will literally replace you in 4 weeks or less…
Do what is best for you and yours. This is just business
Go for it! Your loyalty is to yourself!
They won’t feel guilty about letting you go. They’ll call it business. So do what’s better for you.
If it made financial sense for your current company, they would fire you tomorrow without a second thought. I don’t believe loyalty is owed to any employer.
If the increases is what is most important, go for it. Do what makes you happy regardless of what your current employer thinks.
Would your current employer feel guilty for letting you go if it were best for their bottom line? Absolutely not. Do what’s best for you.
Thank you all very much! This was exactly what I was hoping/needed to hear. I know my current company won't miss a beat without me, but couldn't get past the guilt of leaving coworkers. Thank you again.
Don’t feel guilty. If the job is one you want go for it!
Go for it.
The grass isn’t always greener! Follow your gut. Company loyalty is not a thing. If it’s going to be a great opportunity then do it! Don’t take a job for the money. The highest paying job I’ve ever had was ridiculously stressful and the culture was atrocious. Good luck!
Take the new job, loyalty means nothing these days, I would commit at least 2 years at new company if you can to balance out work history
Do what is best for you! At the end of the day, you can't feel bad for that. I would see if they will match and if not, go to the new company.
