I am trying to write a stock letter to send to parents everyday that their child does not come to virtual learning sessions. I have been told by administration that even though I have spoken to parents and know why students are not coming to zoom classes, that we still need to contact them everytime they dont come. For some of my students this is everyday due to parent work schedules and disability issues.
Is anyone else having this trouble? What are you saying to parents to cover yourself?

We have motion sensor lights in my office and the sensor is far from my desk. Consequently, if I'm on a long WebEx, the lights go out and it's embarrassing. The building won't change the sensor. I’ve worked at places that all have different holiday policies. EA has at minimum a nice 10 day shutdown from Christmas Eve through New Years. It’s great to know that there will be no slack messages or an exploded inbox to come back to while away. I’ve been at other studios that only give you Christmas Eve & Day and New Years Eve & Day and then the rest is up to you to request for PTO and this is obviously the suck.

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?

I currently work as an APM at a FAANG company but recently received an offer to join an MBB. I’m very excited about the role but didn’t realize I’d need to take a pay cut when I applied (~100k base + ~20k bonus + ~60k equity vs. 90k base + 10-20k bonus). Considering that I currently work 40-60 hours/week, I’ll be making significantly less per hour at the MBB. Received offer from BCG for ECT AD role. Read numerous comments about ECT being not attractive compared to Generalists track. Also heard challenges about billability/utilization. Any views/guidance is appreciated.

Background - I am not super keen to become an equity partner and comfortable to stay on ECT track. Main reason to join will be opportunity to work with different clients, smart talented people and good brand. I may consider going back to industry after 3-5 years in ECT.

Someone senior at work is very dismissive of my questions and makes me feel nervous around them. I have just joined the team and so I have a lot of questions. They also try to blow things out of proportion or misrepresent facts and I get flustered in the moment and can’t keep track of what really happened. So I end up accepting blame for things that were not my responsibility. And the truth hits me a few hours later. How can I break this cycle?
