Woke up to knocks from a hotel employee at 4am last night because “supposedly" someone rang an alarm in the hallway and my room was the closest - normally, I don’t ask for points but this is egregious

To be honest...zero. Zero points. Yeah, it’s irritating - but some guy was just doing his job and making sure you were okay

like

Sounds like if it was a real alarm they would have saved your life

like

The alarm was neither hotel-wide (I.e. fire alarm) nor real

Whats the conversation between 1 Marriott point to Stanley nickels?

like

So what should they have done instead?

like

They should have been able to tell if your room card was used to access your room within a few minutes of the alarm. So definitely ask for them to make up for the unnecessary and inconvenient disruption.

I've just recently been hired as an assistant manager at a Canadian outlet store. It's a small company in comparison to others, but there are over 10 locations spanning western Canada and NW united states. I'm curious as to what others in a similar position are getting as salary. I was offered $42k plus bonuses at the interview, but when called back I was offered $44.5k plus bonuses. I already accepted. Did I leave money on the table here?

I have ~900k ultimate rewards points and am hoping to use them to take my wife and <6 month old somewhere for a week before Xmas. Quick question for my DTS travelers: if I don’t wanna take part of a flight back from a school that I’m attending, can I just push the flight in United without any repercussions? E.g., flying back from COS to DEN to IAH on 5/20 but I wanna stay in DEN … can I just push the DEN-IAH segment in United and not get on the plane then? Will that land me in trouble? Can I even mess with DTS flights on the United app?

I am in my early 40's and have about $300K invested and some in cash. I have $70K in credit card debt (no lavish lifestyle, just 2 bouts of unemployment and some major medical expenses, even after insurance).

I live below my means, LCOL city, used car, max my 401K, save my bonuses, etc.

I am going to get a large bonus where after tax, I'll get a couple hundred thousand.

Should I prioritize pay off all credit cards or pay down half/some of the cards and use the rest for a house down payment?

EY is actively recruiting for FDD positions across all levels (senior managers, managers, seniors) and offices. DM if you’re interested in applying and we can chat about any questions you may have. I’m based out of the east region (NYC, Tysons/DC, Philly, Boston) and can communicate directly with the partners I work with to hopefully expedite the process! But happy to still connect if you’re interested in joining another office.

Looking for a Delta rewards card and was going to go with Amex, but internationally Amex isn’t widely accepted and I already have the Gold.
