Really need advice/opinions. My close friends are having their wedding the day of my son’s 1st birthday (poor planning & lack of consideration on their part). I could move the bday to the following wk but I’m 1) hurt they didn’t ask if we could make it if we’re in the wedding party 2) already canceled our gender reveal, babymoon & baby shower last yr due to covid & this is the ONE thing i was looking forward to now that we’re vaccinated. I’ve gone clientside as a WOC. One of the areas the lead agency is scored by is diversity.. I am infuriated that they’ve hired EVEN MORE white guys in leadership roles.

I’m realizing I have a lot of fear—mostly related to health stuff and death. Feel like people are getting sick left right and center (not talking about covid). After the whole diversity and inclusion push from my firm, I decided to try to create a Jewish group especially given all the anti semitism in the world. I sent an email to HR in beginning of august. Senior Buyer whose specialty is electronic components with 27 years of experience. Recently ended up in the medical world and realizing I under sold myself. Management asked me to do an analysis and come up with a number. My current salary is 82k. In our industry with the same experience etc. jobs are posted for up to 108k. Black box comp at mid law. Base Pay is currently 25 percent less than top market and bonus program is meh. Billable hours req is 1800 though. Given how hot the job market is, what is the best way to ask for more pay in the year end discussion without pissing the firm (that I like) off.
Posts about 401k’s and IRAs dominate here. I never liked em for their restrictions. I buy land instead. Third time now. Tend to double my money at least, each time. Am I still missing out or I have I stumbled on something better???!
