It's subjective because there's no transparency no second level reviewer. At least before if you had a crazy M your SM would back you up.
Clearly you haven't... since there are 5 options to answer from strongly agree to strongly disagree...
But with no secondary review there is wide latitude between managers and projects.
Also the fact that I have no idea what my snapshots are or where I fall on the scatter plot is annoying
Another thing to stress me out. Great.
D1 - I can't tell if you're trolling, fronting or just new at this. Just because the "typing" is optional doesn't mean you shouldn't be giving verbal input. Arbitrary answers without explanations are absolutely worthless...
And having sat through YE, it was rare to see a PE.
How is it subjective? It's yes or no questions
Ha, that's what you think... "in your opinion, would you award this person the most $ and bonus" and not a yes or no answer...
Grade inflation is coming either way, I think. They should have just added the 1 rating for projects and called it good
That is a yes or no answer. I've done like 15 of them
Ok so it's a scale. Still no typing except for the "are they performing at next level" question and that text is optional. I think it works better. More snapshots means better gauge on a scatter plot. You could have 5-10 snapshots instead of 2 PE's that in consensus meetings don't even get reviewed. And yes I have done a bunch.
I'm not doing any of the above except being new at this because it's new this year. And arbitrary answers should be just fine for a scatter plot when the counselor's job is to perform due diligence to get the explanations.
2 points (that apply to S&O, and I think all consulting)- 1) D3 - you will see your scatter plot in early April (I'm too lazy to go to my computer to see exactly when, but very early). 2) your scatter plot will inform year end ratings but is not determinative. That is still up to the committee and due diligence. All snapshots due is replace PEs, where 80% of people got 2s and there was no meaningful differentiation between performance.
April 3 for scatterplots
