I've voiced to my boss that I'd like to manage this department and they indicated that this is the thought for the future. Now they are asking me to train this person while I have my plate full. I made it to regional manager for a franchise by age 22. Ran a successful financial practice & sold by the age of 33. Took 2 years off and built a health & wellness coaching platform for my wife (medical provider). Then, the last 2.5 yrs, have been a top producer in Saas sales as a senior account executive. I’ve been told I would make a great COO someday and I’m ready to take the next step into leadership. Who/what should I be targeting next?

I’ve been told my company is changing my title from Associate Director of BD to Sales Executive. I’m concerned it reads like a title demotion. Is it just semantics? How will this look for my career development? Curious about the standard perception of Sales Executive from a seniority perspective. Where does this land on the sales roles hierarchy? For context, it’s a professional services firm, I’ve been there 3+years, and they gave a Sales Executive title to someone who just started 5mo ago.

13 yr outside Sales Experience in the B2B space, multiple roles/companies. Current quota is $15MCAD, I usually do not bad in quota but lately has shifted to rewarding medicorciy and "pooling" some numbers countrywide which i really dont like.
Current comp is $85k Base and $115 OTE with a ceiling of $150k CAD/$120k US. Feel it's too little for my experience and they are taking perks away by the day.

Looking to get into SaaS sales but my experience is in construction and fine furniture (I was a sales manager and was able to lead my team of 4 people to consistently hit 450k monthly targets). I did that for almost 2 years before making the switch. I miss sales, though. Does anyone have any connections to companies looking?
